That is him being against the console wars. The insults, the glib attacks at each other etc. This was written September 23rd 2015.

The tweet that came out September 7th 2016 go against what he said.  Less than a year later the official xbox twitter account was going against what Phil himself said he did not want.

It has nothing to do with Playstation, or what happened 3 years ago. The point is the official twitter account is directly going against what Phil said a year ago.

If Playstation said the same thing THEN released the "how to trade video" it would be the same thing.

Indeed and it wasn't just that twitter. It's all about bragging how Scorpio will be the most powerful console and will do native 4K. Which might be true, it's not out for another year yet though. MS is just doing what Sony did at the 360 launch, please wait, buy our obviously much better (and more expensive) console next year. The 4K / VR generation doesn't start until we say it does! So funny how roles are reversed.

Anyway MS just says whatever suits them at the time. Let's say they're a flexible company. Actions speak louder than words in the end, in a year we'll know what Scorpio can actually do. I didn't wait for ps3 to go HD, not gonna wait for Scorpio to go 4K or rather VR.

I waited for Lost Odyssey to go HD. Now if there's one remaster that needs to happen...

You do know that those situations were completely different concerning both games, right?! Dead Rising 3, Bayonetta 2, and Street Fighter V have a similar business situations that's comparable to that of other games.

Your link isn't loading but I read that interview, and he was talking about the console warz fanboy bullshit you read on forums or twitter. It's a monumental stretch to try and connect that to a tweet showcasing what your console has, even if it's right on the heels of one of your competitors getting a small amount of flak for not having those some of those features.

Spencer used words like vitriol and distasteful... do you really get either of those vibes from a checklist of features?

But lets give House and those crying foul a benefit of the doubt, EVEN IF Spencer had literally said "we will never promote our products ever ever again at the expense of competitors!!", is a tweet from Microsoft's twitter account by whoever does the Xbox twitter account (likely multiple people) really indicative of the entire company? Does this make Papa Phil a liar? A hypocrit?

What would appease you guys so offended by this checklist? Should the social media employee who dared defy the XBoss be fired? Sued? Publicly shamed?

House gave a stupid answer because honestly, what the fuck else could he say. It was Mattrick and "it's called the Xbox 360" all over again.

Well, that one thing is nobody wanted and would have effected a lotta people, and that other thing is some people want, but nobody really has a need for and is non-essential for games.

Some people really need to learn to differentiate.
