Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Are you still impressed by Zelda Breath of the Wild?

Nope never was.Not saying it isn't going to be a good game but nothing nothing impressive. But hey, maybe it is bringing new things to the series, certainly things that have been done to death this gen.

I wasn't impressed to begin with.

That's not to say I didn't like what I saw, but I need to see more of the overall structure of the game. What we've seen so far is Link fucking around in Hyrule, and it looks fun, but I need to see how it fits into a complete experience.

It never impressed me at all, I'll probably buy an NX to play it though, as I like Zelda games a lot but it looks like every other open world action game out there to me.

Meh just looks like any open world game to me. Should look a lot better on NX.

Wasn't impressed at any stage but look at how the media ran like maniacs down that e3 isle..... No matter how real people feel about the game, it will probably get 99.9 on metacritic.

I'm still as impressed as I was at E3 2016...

Basic combat is alright but nothing stellar. Abilities that go beyond that will be of utmost importance in keeping the combat interesting or else it will be a game where you avoid fighting half the time because you've done it so often.

So that's a "wait and see".

With the overworld, we've seen almost nothing that's really interesting or really challenging (like a Far Cry base). That's a big key for an open-world game. On the other side of that coin are instanced dungeons that are really enjoyable to tackle or explore. Have they shown any of that yet?

So that's a major "wait and see".

Things to do outside of combat are also important, along with interesting cities or villages.

"Wait and see".

Honestly, right now, most of the excitement boils down to "it's Zelda!" and "it's open-world!" We really have no idea if the game is anything special or enjoyable until the biggest questions get answered.

Now that I think about it, BOTW most likely will get downgraded. Especially the Wii U version.

It looks stylised like the wind waker, wich aged really well.

I don't know what you mean by impressed though. Should this be like impressed by a console whose specs are way below the other two? The Wii U has delivered incredible looking games, and gave us 60fps more often than current consoles.
So, if you are talking about number of pollies, special effect techniques and resolution. No, it doesn't look out of this world. But that is completely irrelevent on wether its an impressive aka good looking game from quality perspective, and that it is.

Yes, I've been waiting for another Zelda game ever since I found out how good Zelda games were.
