Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Slim Manual Reveals CUH-20XXB Model With 1 Terabyte Hard Disk Drive

With this in mind:

PS4s 500gb = $250
PS4s 1tb = $300

The PS4 slim units that have been leaked into the wild for reasons that remain unknown are of the 500 GB variety, sporting product code CUH-2016A. According to Twitter user shortman82, who purchased one of the consoles, that’s not the only available model.

The console manual, in fact, reveals a CUH-2016B console with a 1 terabuyte hard disk drive built in (it’s worth keeping in mind that the “16” is simply the region identifier, and in this indicates a console sold in the UK).

Incidentally, shortman82 also mentioned that he did not find any reference to 4K resolution anywhere in the console’s operating system or box, probably indicating that the console will still have a maximum output resolution at 1080p.

$249 for 500gb, $299 for 1tb calling it.

I've aleays thought it was enough though. Most of the time you're playing a PS4 game within minutes if not seconds and so deleting a game you're not playing at the moment is no problem at all. It's not like you have to wait 45 minutes to an hour to play. I was playing No Man's Sky immediately.

I will get the 1tb model, but I still wish sony would get their act together and release external hdd support.

I will never need more than 500 gigs this gen. Install a game. Play the game. Delete the game.

Want to play it again later? Re install it.

I would have to have 10+ AAA games installed before I started having any space issues. Large AAA games on top of that.

Some people are loath to uninstall for some reason. I CAN see the point of a larger drive if you are completely digital but even then you can start playing the game before it's fully downloaded as far as I remember. I could be wrong there though because I always buy physical.

That works for you, but I have a 2TB SSD filled to the brim, and I play every game installed on it. I am having to figure out what friends I am going tl stop playing with each time a new game comes out since I have no space.

Then on top ofthat I want to try as much PSVR content as possible, so I am hoping Neo releases same day as PSVR. Otherwise I have to find space for 11 old school AAA games I plan to get between now and Dcember and 30 somethinlg Next Gen VR games and apps.

It's the PS Store and PSN+ content that kills me. If you delete one of those games then want to come back and play it it does take a long time to install. I have a lot of PS Store and PSN stuff on the HDD that I haven;t played in a while, but I will want to play at some point. And when I want to play it I don't want to have to wait for an hour or more before I can get into it.

I am all digital. And currently using a 1TB SSHD. I usually have an average of 8-10 games installed on my PS4 at any one time. I generally delete stuff I haven't touched for over 3 months.

I know the PS4 supports backing up to an external HDD, but I would actually prefer game backups on a game by game basis. Make it that you can't play the games from the external HDD and have to first copy back to the PS4 That's still bettr than having to re download it again.

$249.99 is a very good price. i can see this thing getting very good sales considering how cheap the Ps4 will get. A more powerfull console that is less expensive then the Competition! Yeah, i think sony did the rigth choice cutting the price, and putting into practice classic "Entry Pricing Strategy".
