JUST BEEN POSTED ON BLOG, CONFIRMED

https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2016/08/22/introducing-the-dualshock-4-usb-wireless-adaptor/

Also wireless adapter, that makes the DS4 natively supported on PC's with Stereo Jack, Rumble and all the other features working!

awesome!

Urghh I was hoping they would come out with official drivers instead of the adapter

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I wonder if a DualShock controller will be mandatory for PS Now on PC.

This way, Sony could get some hardware profit even from PC gamers.

You can use third party apps to use it without the Adapter. I assume the adapter is needed so you can use all the Controllers functions such as the Wireless Audio (which isn't available on third party apps.)

I mean if Microsoft make you get a wireless adapter for their controller on their own operating system I assume there must be some technological reason as to why it is required.

Hmmmm, a good way to answer this question would be seeing if the Remote Play app on PC only works with Dualshock 4.... if there isn't a way to use another input device I would think PSNOW would be the same.

As far as I can tell you can only use DS4 on the remoteplay app.

Well with the new x1 controllers, you can pair them up with bluetooth and you don't need an adapter unless you want to have more than one controller. Not that I ever thought MS requiring an adapter was a good idea in the first place since to me, it makes zero sense apart from $$$.

And the issue with third party apps is that they aren't exactly perfect or as stable as official ones would be.

Edit: Also Bluetooth can do wireless audio

I don't mind an additional cable at my PC place.

I hope, PS Now also supports a DualShock 4 connected with a simple USB cable instead of an expensive proprietary bluetooth adapter.

PS4 Remote Play on a PC works fine with a wired DS4, so should PS Now.

This will be hacked in a heartbeat, if true.

Is it hacked for PS4 remote play on PC?

Yeah, I mean if they can hack the ps4 to accept mouse/kb input or previously unsupported steering wheels then making the PSNOW app accept input from other devices will be a cake walk. :P
