the tech is great, I just think the whole implementation was meh also the "you're the controller, the physical controller is a barrier" was silly.

yeah, years later now I see that video and I'm like wow, I really thought this was the future.

Likewise, although I will say I still use it everyday for X1 voice commands, and now with Cortana they are even more accurate. I'll get the adapter for my gears 4 slim as the ease of recording gameplay or screenshots is great. Hardcore gaming use, not so much. Maybe with Scorpio they will find some way to use it in conjunction with VR, who knows.

mattrick sounded like he was bringing in the new world order early on that video,i don't think the wii was silly it produced those "evergreens" back in the chartz

i've never wanted to be the controller in gaming,still quite happy with my controllers & keyboards

For games yes but Kinect has helped technology in a lot of ways.

For years the robotics departments had a big problem to solve the SLAM problem. (Basically asked a robot in a room where is an object and he could not find it). Kinect a cheap 150$ device solved that problem, Robotics advancements went trough the roof with some professors calling the kinectfusion age.

We know the xbox is not doing so good, but isn't it still selling better than the 360?

Hands and body motions for gameing are just a bad idea.
We need some form of controller, and we need physical buttons on it.

I also think the motion controlls for VR are gonna be flops.
VR games dont need you running around flopping your arms wildly, to "feel" like your inside a virtual world.
The view point of the display matching the motions of your head turns is enough.
Just keep with the normal controllers.
