Forums - Movies & TV - Hollywood Should Be Ashamed Of Itself -- Worst Summer Movie Season EVAR.

I don't really like just CG of Superhero movies, but star trek was good. I don't know if this is the worst season, I think its more about "preferances" then anything else, I loved Star Wars last year ^_^

The only 2 movies I don't regret going to the cinema to watch are Jungle Book, Gods of Egypt, The Conjuring 2 and BvS.

Edit: That's actually not bad. So, definitely not the worst summer movie ever.

Gods of Egypt was good? Butlers white house movie was decent too this year, but then again, I am starved for action movies.

I thought it was very refreshing and visually original. I think if you're tired of seeing the same movies every year, give it a chance.

I've only went for the must see movies. This being Civil War, Zootopia and Deadpool. That's it. Only Civil War did I watch in theater. Rest was bought on Bluray / 3D Bluray. Nothing else to look forward, too :(

I will agree that most movies aren't as good as they usually are, but it's still a pretty decent line up.

Deadpool was awesome
Zootopia was good
Batman v Superman was... disappointing
Star Trek was great
Suicide Squad was... kinda meh
Civil War was good
Jungle Book was good
X-men was... meh
Kung Fu Panda was good
Warcraft was... I dunno actually... probably meh

I think that's all the movies I've seen from this year... While there were quite a few duds, some where really good as well - and the year isn't over yet

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I agree most of the 'Blockbusters' were shit

Captain America and BvS were generic and contrived. X-Men sucked. Warcraft sucked. Independence Day sucked. Tarzan sucked.

The Jungle Book and Deadpool were good. I've heard good things about Zootopia. I liked Finding Dory okay, but it was quite a rehash for the most part.

hardly any good 'small' films.

It has been a pretty awful summer. The worst thing is the most hyped up films were pretty disappointing (Independence Day, Suicide Squad, X-Men). Hollywood just doesn't take enough risk anymore, too much generic crap

Batman Vs. Superman, Indepedence Day, X-Men Apocalypse.

^ watched these, and I agree with OP.
Every one of them dissapointed.

yeah not a good year for movies, thats for sure.

why are you going to the cinema to watch this crappy movies?

Seriously, nobody is forcing anybody.

-First of all stop paying to watch shit movies, if nobody sees them, they'll stop making them. It's that simple.
-Second, in my country the normal price is 11€ (12$), I manage to pay 7€ (8$) for two tickets, 3.5 (4$) per person. I'm sure you too can find ways to pay less.

You don't have to give them that much money, stop being lazy and be smart with your money.

Other than that, I agree that this is a sad year for movies. So many half assed sequels and reboots. But I don't feel cheated, because I saw only a few movies, I saw Deadpool, The Nice guys, Zootopia, Finding Dory, I enjoyed all of them.

Now i did watched BVS, I couldn't trust the reviews because critics just hate Zack Snyder, and I love his movies (with the exception of Sucker punch), so I wanted to make my own opinion, well I was wrong on this one ^^. I love the first trailer, but thought the second trailer was stupid, turns out the second trailer was right...

I also saw civil war, not bad, but not great either.
