And I don't mean just for Japan, but worldwide! I'm pretty confident this game is finished already with enough time to spare for localization. I refuse to believe the developers have only been twiddling their thumbs and wasting time with lazy spin-offs these 4 years since New Leaf, so there's no doubt that they atleast started on Wii U version, but for a high profile IP like this they must have begun work immediately after New Leaf finished. Thus it's definitely safe to say the game should be complete in time for NX launch. If it's true that the NX is Wii U level power, then even moreso since it would be easy to port over and there'd be no need to redo the engine or visuals or anything since the game is already up to the hardware's graphical standard. This is a major stretch but I also feel like the random amiibo update to New Leaf is just the developers having nothing better to do lel. It'd be safer to say it'll be a first year game, but I'm going all in!

I think a decent amount of games will make for a strong start. A list could be something like this:

-Super smash bros 4 port with all DLC content
-Animal crossing NX
-Mario Party(cheap and easy to make)
-Mario game
-port of good wii u games
-Spla2n
-Pikmin 4
-Pokemon- perhaps Pokken 2?
-3rd party titles
-BREATH OF THE WILD!!!!!!

that should easily set some ground for the NX. Add in the other series like Kirby and you're good to go

Also dont forget AC mobile comes out fall and it will connect with AC somehow (next game) and what beyter way to promote late this year amd release the real game with the nx launch?

You can definitely add Retro's game on there, and I'll bet Mario Kart 9 will be the holiday title! Dunno about Splatoon 2 though, they were still working on the original even after launch, and this time they're gonna have to make sure the game is fully featured on release.

Oh yeah, have they revealed the game yet? If they haven't despite it releasing within 4 months from now, then perhaps the reason is that they need Animal Crossing NX to be revealed first, that way they as soon as they unveil mobile AC they can market it as a companion game to AC NX.

I don't think it will be there at launch, because I think Nintendo will pace their biggest releases. If Animal Crossing on NX has the selling power of the portable versions, you're looking at a game that's going to shift 10 million copies and several million consoles. Nintendo don't need that on day one when they can count on Zelda.

I do think we'll see Animal Crossing in 2017, though, and I agree it's far into development. I'm also agreed on the points about the mobile title, I fully expect Nintendo are launching Animal Crossing mobile later this year with the hopes of driving some new mobile players onto NX.

I think it is going to be launched during the first halv of NX existance for sure, I agree with that. However, where is it rumored that the NX will be Wii U powerlevel? The Tegra x1 chip alone is even at its lowest 50% more powerful than the one on Wii U.

I doubt we will see MK9 during the first year though, the MK team worked on quality DLC for long just like the splatoon team did with that game. Neither will come in 2017, possibly 2018.

Gamecube version was actually a N64 game so fair to think that the NX version was a Wii U game!

Yeah, it seems like it time for a new Animal Crossing game! They probably ported over their progress from Wii U to the NX so I'm expecting it to release some time next year. Having it at launch would be really great since they're releasing the mobile version this fall.
