Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So Nintendo should go 3rd Party, right? What about everyone else?

Last time I checked there are several games that are in Wii U VC, NES remix and upcoming NES mini and not to include remasteres that appear every gen. I acknowledge that super Mario 3D world is not a rehash. But releasing same game several times in short time is true rehash. And Nintendo does it all the time.

As for Nintendo going third party; because they are not adding much as a hardware owner. They will be forced to innovate when competing with other software makers as third party developer. As for competition; market doesn't like vaccum. If there is space then someone more capable will take Nintendos place as hardware maker.

So you don't like Nintendo's current software output, and you think by going third-party the company will conform to current "AAA" design philosophies? And another company will fill the void left by Nintendo? Thus ensuring competition?

It's not only me who doesn't like Nintendos software output; it's the market. Look at 2016 Nintendos games. How many games do they have? Wii's support died after 2010 and they never recovered. Survival the fittest. Nintendo will have a hard time if they are only handheld next gen. As for competition; market will change automatically. If no one comes in to fill Nintendos void then it will change accordingly.

Whatever view I possess is based on my surroundings. I used to see kids playing DS; heck I played Gameboy and saw many kids playing it. Now I see kids having Amazon Fire tablet or iPads. Even though I don't like mobile gaming have purchased games from App Store. Handhelds were Nintendos bread and butter in every gen and this gen they needed most. But they can't make it successful because market has changed a lot. Given the status of market I don't see a place in the market for Nintendo and they can try something by going third party.

How about this: Everyone goes 3rd party and they all release on PC. Oh, but that doesn't work very well either, then Steam basically has a monopoly and can do whatever the heck they want, including raising game prices. There is no perfect scneario really, we either have to deal with the annoyance of exclusives, or with a monopoly and the risks that come with it.

Gabe Newell won't live forever. After his departure Valve might change. For (worst) example, EA might buy Valve. No company stays as they were in past forever. Those who are praising Valve might change their tone at that time.

I keep seeing this void thing if Ninty leaves, but is it much of a void if people arent buying the systems anyway? (home consoles)

Since life is short, and you refuse to answer directly my questions, I can't keep doing this.

Honestly, I think you're doing some mental gymnastics to provide a pretext for a sentiment you openly admitted to having back in May:

It's a lot bigger than you'd think. -_-

Don't say that, you might tempt fate and screw Valve over!!

There will still be fan tribalism.  Whether it be between software publishers or pc component makers like AMD vs nividia.

Regardless with Playstation in as good a health as ever your dream ain't coming true anytime soon.

Not in the same format you want to say it will be though. Software tribalism is about as good as those who rant that AVg is better than Norton.

Time changes everything, PS won't be around forever and time changes everything on this rock.

Nope. AMD vs Nvidia.

Man vs machine.

This world has enough markets with a company going against one another. At least in the GPU market we don't have Nvidia buying off games and tying them to a select few GPU's entirely.

Let's be real, at this rate we're only a few years away from exclusive Nvidia PC games.

If it happens with MS then it would be the same scenario if not far worse.

You know that won't fly so well, but hey 1st party games are fine on this forum so I guess we shouldn't argue if Nvidia or AMD foot the bill right?.
