Link would not have to be present for the Hylian Civil War, and he was not present during the Imprisoning War to our knowledge either.  Link could easily be left for the games OR if they included him it would just be a tale of said incarnation and he would be allowed to speak as you would be watching the story unfold instead of unfolding it yourself.

Don't you want someone who can actually act to play her? Rousey is all fine to stand ther looking mean and dangerous and kicking arse. But I would never want her to have to actually carry a movie. Game adaptations have a hard enough time being good as it is. Putting a sportsperson who isn't a very good actor in the lead role would just make things harder.

The focus of most nintendo games, isnt the story of the game, but rather the gameplay.

Most of them lack enough story to be made into good movies or series imo.
Im betting if they did try, it would end up cringe worthy.

Pokemon has a series though... and I think Fire emblem/Kid Icarus, is a exception to the rule.

Fire emblem or metroid.

Metroid seems like an easy concept to make a good sci fi movie and get a lot of attention because of the franchise its strength, they can really go in any direction with that.

The one I want is Metroid, but here's a less obvious choice: Excitebike. You could make pretty much any plot you wanted that involved racers competing against each other. Plus you could have awesome stunts. Basically Nintendo meets Days of Thunder. You could do the same with F-Zero, but I like Excitebike better.
