Pokemon stopped being good after the second episode... Of season 1.

This is the same series that resets Pikachu to level 1 every season just to make it more interesting... Face it, Pokemon is not worth your time.

Even the games. I would not be interested in anything that has more than the first 150 pokemon. Anything more is just pokemon spam. I used to have the whole list memorized. What the hell is the point of having thousands of species... It's just an endless mess now.

Oh well, XY was a good series, let's not fret over things we pretty much knew was coming.

Just because you "knew it was coming" (if you watched the show only the opposite is true, they clearly led us on) doesn't make a bad thing not bad. The current fanbase outrage is totally justified and I can't wait to see wave 2 of the hate storm after they reveal that AshxSerena was also just a troll.

Damn. What a pile of rubbish. I guess still not the worst disappointment of the year.

Poor Ash.

This is the reason I quit on the anime, when BW started. It's not worth my time. I knew the proper building up of Ash/Satoshi be competent is always a troll tactic, to get people who gave up, back. Then slam them with the same loss crap they always do. Losing is not the problem. The fact the show keeps doing it, is.

So a fan theory on how old Ash should be, keyword being should, not actually is. Real canonical proof would be episode 1 of the BW series where they blatantly say he's 10 years old still, thus the show clearly does not use real world time logic.

I always found the age mechanic weird. I remeber an old epsiode in the original series where Ash states it been a year since he was last in Viridian City. So it seems in the show that time passes but at certain points characters stop aging.

Except Ash loses all the time.

I mean if we are being realistic his track record is really good. I mean we are just thinking this cuz he is the main protagonist of the franchise.

But even Charlie Brown has been alluded to having a decent conversation with his crush or connecting with the darn football off screen/panel.

Pokemon is at about or getting close to 2 decades here and aside from what amounts to filler arcs he still hasn't won. And in  a show that technically is always going for a sports/tournament motif, that is nuts that the main character still hasn't had any major wins.

Pokemon is more about the adventure even though the battles are just as prominent.

Personally, this does not take away the fact that XY/XYZ is really solid and has provided a lot of fun for me. I haven't been more enthusiastic about the show for a while and I've watched the series since the beginning (though I should replay more of BW to make sure I've watched as much episodes to cover everything since that's the series I've watched the least amount as of now). What Ash has accomplished is nothing short of great. Sure it would've been nice to see him win and I was a bit disappointed at first, but I'm hate being one to be so negative about anything. In the end, it's not gonna ruin my childhood or all that exaggerated stuff that fans might express.

True, I'd still give that award to Color Splash.

And I don't get why they do this. There's simply no positives to be gained from intentionally pissing off the fanbase, only negatives.

Yeah pretty much. I really wish they woulda done what the Yugioh anime does and have a new protagonist each series.

The writers trolled us. That's not an exaggeration, it's a fact. I'll still watch the rest of XYZ as I may aswell see it through to the end at this point. That, and to see if the AshxSerena is also just a troll and the ensuing hate storm 2.0 when it is. However the Sun/Moon series I'm likely going to pass on and even encourage others to do the same. They really cannot be allowed to think that they can repeatedly troll their fanbase and get away with it. We cannot just rollover and accept that.

Im not talking about them being an exaggeration. I'm talking about the negativity and reaction after the fact. You can talk about the idea of being trolled all you want, but trying to be negative on Twitter, especially on Ash's long-time VA Rica Matsumoto, or saying it ruined your childhood and all that stuff is overblown to me. I personally was initially disappointed but I got over it quickly because in the end they both fought hard and I already knew it could go either way based on each other's previous experiences. Alain's Mega Charizard X is no slouch and has fought multiple Megas before and I cannot doubt Ash's bond with Greninja. It's fine if you want to convince others to not watch the series, but you can exclude me from that since I still plan to watch as long as I see it being fun for me to watch. Again, personal opinion so no offense.

None taken, I know many people just bend over and accept abuse from higher-ups, and if they do so willingly and knowingly then alright that's fine, it's their choice to support anti-consumer practices and I can't force them not to, I'm only to make sure people are aware of it. Of course personally attacking people especially those who had nothing to do with the foul play isn't okay, but don't imply the general negativity isn't justified.
