I don't know. That might backfire and people may not feel the need to get Sun/Moon to check out these new Pokémon if they can get them on GO before the games are even out.

I think people who haven't been into pokemon in a while are showing interest again. My wife has never been interested in any Pokemon game outside the first generation but now she wants to buy the next Pokemon game that comes out. The price point will still be a large barrier to overcome.

It is having an effect this very moment. Maybe not mahor but still is. On amazon it pushing 3 games (xy/oras and pre orders for SuMo).

I ask my friend a manager at gamestop and he said pokemon xy and oras was being bought frequently this past weekend. (Used and new)

Probably will not, since these two games are still very different

I have not played a pokemon game since red/blue/yellow...and I am thinking of getting Sun/Moon because of go....sooooo yeah....

Offcourse it will, until Sun and Moon arrives there will tens of millions Pokemon Go players, definitely at least some small part of them would want more Pokemon and to try real Pokemon game.
That's basically main reason why Nintendo releasing their games on mobile and raising awareness of their IPs, to bring more people to their dedicated platforms.

I guess we'll just find out in a few months when Sun and Moon launch.
If GO is still a massive hit by then, if not still a powerhouse sensation, then I'd imagine it certainly will.

The fact that is the second generation on the same console is going to affect it more. But I don't see Go afeecting it that much, specially because most of the fanbase is composed of the older fans.

Nintendo can give a free code of Buying S/M which you can scan or enter in Pokemon Go to get more items and pokeballs and maybe a free pokemon from the new gen!

It might rekindle the love for Pokémon to some, but I don't think it will have a huge impact.
