Forums - Gaming Discussion - Let's celebrate the 10th anniversary of FlatOut 2

I can't express in words how much I love this game. It is one of my top 3 racing games on PC. I believe it is one of the best arcadey racing games ever made.

The handling, the physics, the track designs. Visuals were amazing for the time and look great even today. I love that there's always lots of sunlight. I grabbed it on current Steam sale for measily 1.49 eur but it is easily worth 120 if you ask me.

Sometime later they released FlatOut 2 Ultimate or something but something was off with it for me, probably the fact the it was darker for some reason.

I will probably be replaying it forever, it has been unmatched in its sub-genre for the last decade. Only DiRT2 comes close but it is more sim, FlatOut 2 is pure arcadey fun.

Congrats to Finnish developer Bugbear!

Together with TrackMania we played the hell out of FlatOut 2 during classes on my boarding school. So much fun!

Hello,
Is there anybody out there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone at home?

As much as I love FlatOut 2 it still has some shortcomings. Sometimes there is too much stuff laying on track that has cost me 1st place, also AI opponents too often don't care about winning but blocking you. And surfaces are too slidy I guess. But I still rate this game with 10 out of 10.

it was really fun, yeah.

Flawed game, but I had a LOT of fun with it when it came out. I remember so many good times with my friends.

And it has a cool tracklist too

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.
