Forums - Gaming Discussion - The part of the Zelda trailer I love that everyone hates.

Okay, yes, I am a bit late to the punch bowl to discuss anything about the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Trailer but I am anyway because why not?

So that part of the trailer about half-way through where the screen briefly turns black and the music pauses after a gradual crescendo seems to be a horrible part of the otherwise perfect trailer to most people. But that is my favorite part of the trailer to be honest. It gives me chills every single time I see and hear it. I don't think it was a bad edit, more of just a use of suspense.

I can't be the only one who thinks this... right?

Anyway, see it in the link below. It happens at about the two-minute mark.

I didn't like the part where Link has a penis.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Yeah same here. I don't even know why people complained about that part. I've seen different trailers that does that.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Oh that part. Here I was thinking "There was a part people didn't like?"

I admit that at first I thought my stream stuttered, and after I thought it was weird, or something, but yeah probably to add to the suspence. I don't believe there could be such a thing as a 'bad edit', or a missed mistake, on a level this professional.

The fade to black isn't the part that people are criticizing. It's how deliberately it jumps back in. And the difference between it and the part that comes before, too. It just doesn't feel right, especially how deliberately different the music is from the scene just before. Maybe if the fade to black had been longer, it would have eased the blow.

But it's just a small blemish on an otherwise incredible trailer.

bet: lost

Nonono. That was bad. Later on, when it happened again with a look at the Master Sword in all its destroyed glory; there it was perfect. An anticlimatic but emotional ending, leaving you wanting more. That was beautiful.

The one half way through, wasnt too bad, but when the music starts again it just left me with a bad taste. The one after tho, that was art.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

When I say "bad edit", I dont mean edited incorrectly. I mean that the trailer didnt benefit from it.

I really couldn't care less about how a trailer is cut, but now that you mention it, I don't think that is done very well. Cutting to black is fine, but it needs to last for longer to have any impact.

When I first watched it and the times after, it still feels like an awkward skip to me :/

However, at the end with the guardian black out, that was very well done

I doubt after all that time, it was an accident. I just think they approached it wrong. I've seen that type of cut done before but it has been done to a better degree.
