Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft has 14 1st Party Games In Development

You know what? That's actually a pretty good list. I never thought I'd say this, but Microsoft's first-party output may be eclipsing Sony's. I want to play The Last Guardian more than anything Microsoft is publishing, but taken as a whole the Microsoft stable is looking impressive. The question is: will all these games be released on time or at all?

Most of them have day and month set.

  1. Halo Wars 2
  2. Crackdown 3
  3. Scalebound
  4. ReCore
  5. Sea of Thieves
  6. Gears of War 4
  7. Forza Horizon 3
  8. State of Decay 2
  9. Killer Instinct
  10. Dead Rising 4
  11. Forza Motorsport 7
  12. Halo 6
  13. Phantom Dust HD
  14. ?

"For the last few years, Microsoft has excelled with their first party efforts, bringing us titles such as Halo 5, and more than one Forza racing title"

Wouldn't call that excelling, closer to the opposite. I really want to see more new IPs. I like Forza and Halo but other first party studios need to step up.

It also leave a few unknown ones that might surprise.  Depending on if DR4 and phantum dust are counted there are still a few unannounced as well.

I'm most worried about Crackdown. The delay makes me apprehensive, especially after Fable and Phantom Dust got stuck in development limbo.

I've said it before but the irony with the Xbox One getting blitzed is that they are actually doing a FAR better job with content than with the Xbox 360.  They still rely too much on Gears and Halo but the variety is much improved.  Still hard for them to counter Sony's Japanese content, however.

Halo Wars 2
Crackdown 3
Scalebound
ReCore
Sea of Thieves
Gears of War 4
Forza Horizon 3
State of Decay 2
Killer Instinct
Dead Rising 4
Forza Motorsport 7
Halo 6
Phantom Dust HD
Ori And the Will of the Wisps

you win the game, congratulations. I'd like to think we all helped :p. This was oddly fun for some reason. Pretty good list.

Yeah, when you start adding in third-party exclusives the balance of power switches back to PlayStation. Games like Persona 5, Nioh, and Dragon Quest Builders look too good to pass up.

But I gotta say I'm liking what I'm seeing from Xbox. If Microsoft Studios could jumpstart Fable and fix Halo, then it would really be something special.
