Forums - Nintendo - GameFaqs Zelda U rumour from 2 years ago:Seems partially...legit?

So there was a Gamefaqs Wii U rumour from 2 years.  Well I assume 2 years but I could be reading the time totally wrong.  he got some things right at least, but there are of course some things unaccounted for(masks).  What do you guys think?  I think also this rumour was before the first trailer no?  Like I said I may have misread the timeline, so mods lock nd delete if necessary or if posted already.

I have come across some information about Zelda Wii U. You see, I managed to get in touch with a developer, and a translator (They will remain anonymous for obvious reasons). I did not get to see the game itself, but I do know information about it. They might be lying, or certain aspects the game will change, but this is what they told me.

Zelda Wii U will have a huge focus on exploration, the overworld and dungeons are made for the player to get lost, making the map more relevant.

Ganon will be the main villain but he will not be in his human form.

There are more items specifically designed for other types of exploration such as gloves that allow you to climb trees, mountains, and icy cliffs.

A mask system like the one in Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask will return, but it will have unexpected twists.

The world is immersive, and extremely detailed, blades of grass are trampled by Link's boots, detailed footprints are made in the sand.

The bloom effect from Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD will be back, with gorgeous lighting found everywhere and the art style will be colorful and extremely detailed. You can see every stitch of Link's clothing, and it closely resembles a mix between Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess.

Most items will be found in the overworld, some can be bought, others have to be found through exploration.

The story is mostly told through Non-Playable-Characters in towns and other areas, and there are over 50 side quests to do for various items, upgrades, and tools.

Offensive items are more powerful and useful, like in A Link Between Worlds. For example, the fire rod will have 3 times as more damage than the players first sword, and does even more against certain enemies.

Combat and control will be entirely be on the Wii U Gamepad, the only motion control will be gyroscopic, with some items such as the Hero's Bow.

Emotion in the game will be a darker tone like in Majoras Mask. There are deaths, and themes that are utterly creepy,

There is little hand-holding in the game, and for the most part, it is un-linear, there will be a hint system that is independent of regular gameplay.

Zelda Wii U will be harder than every other Zelda game, combat, and puzzles will provide a significant challenge.

That is all they told me, and I believe it to be true. It is looking like an amazing game from what they told me.

It's set in space guys and you are this guy named Link who signs on to work on this spaceship and you wake up and you find out that everyone is dead except the medical officer (her name is Zelda) and she is contacting you and guiding you around and stuff and there are like these weird creepy aliens (they're called Moblins)"

The plot twist though is that when you finally get to Zelda you find out she's actually dead and It wasn't really Zelda talking to you at all it was the ship's sentient on board computer system who is named GANON and she just pretended to be the medical officer to gain your trust

Also throughout the game Link finds cybernetic modules which allow him to upgrade his abilities so its more rpg like like you can upgrade your melee skills and stuff and there are guns and psionic abilities too so you can kill people with your mind

Sounds a little bit ambiguous to me. This could have been idealized by anyone.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

The semi-ambiguous parts are right thus far though.  Though non-human Ganon isn't what I'd call ambiguous nor climbing mountains or trees.

Yeah. If anything, this just goes to show how much the Zelda team listened to fan feedback about the Zelda series.

Oh dang!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Two years ago would be prior to the original announcement as Zelda U, wouldnt it?

The only contradiction I could spot was the climbing Items thing, with gloves specific to certain terrain, but that could have easily been scrapped during developement.

Then there are the story element wich we don't know much about yet, like the overall tone of the game or the mask system, wich could still turn out to be true.

But everything we do know is spot on with this.

Don't know the exact date of this thread, but yeah I think so - as in before the first official trailer).
