Huge, varied world with tons of platforming and acrobatics, please.

my guess is Zelda at launch, Pikmen a few months later, and Mario during the holidays. of course there would be more releases. but those would be the major ones. 

maybe we could expect a new Donkey Kong or 2D mario at launch as well?

I kind of expect some kind of mini-game collection like Nintendoland or Wii Sports at launch to showcase whatever feature the NX has.  It almost seems like a given now based on recent history.

Hopefully the originality is in the concept and design, since Mario hasn't been super original in it's concepts lately (but has had unique level design), with the exception of Super Mario Maker (The holy and supreme New Super Mario Bros. killer).

But if they're going to do the same concept again, it should be another Galaxy game. The first 2 games could be expanded on like crazy.

I'm guessing a re-release of Mario Maker is more likely than a 2D Mario, unless the 2D Mario was actually... Original (Finally!).

For those panicking, do consider that Nintendo is generally working on multiple Mario titles simultaneously. Just because this one may be a year or two off doesn't mean there won't be something for the Nx launch.

I'm pretty excited though... really, the only other franchise that is as old and consistently excellent as Zelda that I can think of are his Mario games.

I get the sense something about the NX is very, very different from anything before for better or worse. 

The last Mario that was really very, very different was Super Mario 64. 

Hopefully this time they take a similarly bold and ambitious approach as they have with Zelda. 3D World was a good game, but it played it too safe, and lacked the spark and wow factor that made games like Mario 64 and Galaxy instant classics. Nintendo's biggest mascot deserves their A-game.
