One of my few concerns is the lack of variety of enemies: the trailer shows many similar enemies. A few different ones were shown and I understand keese and little laser enemies were shown during gameplay from some of the footage that I saw. Hopefully more show up as you play the game.

I'm shure there'll be quite a variety of enemies, in the end we've just seen the first area of the game and we already have Chuchus, Guardians, The Pig-like enemies whose name always slipps off my mind, bats and those ice enemies, plus many of these have variations depending on the place you visit/the time of the day with Skeletons and ice bats ...

And one guy playing the demo apparently stumbled upon a rock boulder monster thing that turned out to be a hidden field boss that squished him :P

Or how Link will react depending on the environment and what he's wearing. Like how when they were at the Snowy mountains that I think might be Snowpeak Mountain, and he was wearing just a blue shirt and he was freezing his ass off!
I'm already imagining being at Death Mountain and seeing him sweating bullets and getting dehydrated from the immense heat!!

If Minecraft has taught me anything, it's that you shouldn't underestimate the procrastination value of running around aimlessly killing grass.

Lmao true, but we already know that bees won't hide in the grass, and we haven't seeny any Rupees so far so what could possibly be the purpose ? (other than throwback of course)

Well, if you can hide in the grass I imagine there may be nocturnal enemies in some areas that will crawl through the grass.  Cutting the grass could limit their ability to approach easily attack you by surprise.  Kinda like you had those enemies in Twilight Princess that burrowed in the sand in the desert.  Or those enemies that would hide under the dust and sand in Skyward Sword.

I am super pumped and I wasn't at all until this trailer
the open nature of this game is super exciting I have been really disappointing with the late Zelda's being linear and boring.
I love how you can pick up weapons and has mmo elements like cooking and mining I am a huge fan of stuff like that

What I do not like
- Voice acting
- The title (breath of the wild) = ew
- Link's pony tail

everything else to me looks fantastic and I was really skeptical at first but, it looks amazing.

Honestly, seeing all of this and digesting it, realizing that THIS is the next 3D Zelda game.
I can't help but wonder now...
Where does the series go after this?
I may be thinking way to deep down the line and I know it's pretty early, but...Is it possible that THIS is the new formula for the 3D Zelda?
Because I'm having a hard time right now thinking how they could possibly go back to the old 3D formula that they had stuck so religiously to from Ocarina of Time to Skyward Sword.
It kind of feels like this is a point of no return!

I think this will indeed be a new direction, not a one and done.  Just like they used Ocarina of time as a launching point and tinkered with that formula to create a variety of titles with subtle differences but a familiar anderlying structure, they will do the same here I think.

I absolutely love the attention to detail on display; the little things most games just don't even think of.

Like how the enemies aren't armed when they're just vegetating at their camp, and that they run to grab their weapons when they see you, but you can sneak up and steal their unattended weapons before they notice. Or how he skeleton enemies will try to put themselves back together, and even pick up and use each other's severed arms and heads as weapons.

Just fantastic.

I love that as well and think it's a great way to have difficulty gradually ramp up by having later enemys always equiped with a weapon and actively moving around the map, kinda like Bulborbs to Bulbears in Pikmin.

In that case. I shall take a moment of silence to honor the end of an era...
What is now the old school 3D Zelda formula.
1998-2011

You gave us some incredible memories that shall be cherished by us forever. Farewell!
OK, now that that's out of the way, back to watching Breath of the Wild footage!

Edit: Or they might have the old formula be a throwback series that works similar to the 2D top down Zeldas, we'll see.

Yeah, they showed that boss battle at the Nintendo Threehouse aswell, but to be honest it didn't look much difficult, after climbing on the back of the monster they hit his weak spot about 3 times with the sword and he went down to about 4/5 of his health...

Well at the very end of the Threehouse livestream they showed Link with another aircut in another area of the game so there's that (though I think the pony tail is way better than the aircut he had in that specific zone :v)

It exceeded my expectations, and those were very high. It looks absolutely fantastic and I love the focus on exploration and large amount of details and options that are available. i just can't stop watching videos of it. Nintendo delivered.
