But two million Xbox players did, so there's really no need for a remake. If anything, a remastered version on the original on X1, but that's pretty much it.

And that's precisely the problem. Capcom Vancouver has proven incompetent enough with their take on the franchise. Being alone with a full remake of the original thing can't be good news.

Lazy is making a port just to upgrade the res and frames. From the description on the rumor, location, time of the year changed and vehicles are going to be added. This is not a remaster. |
I will have to disagree with you there, sir

2 million is still a small number in the universe of 20 million possible players.
Capcom Vancouver delivered DR3 to where fans were happy about it. I followed the game closely because of its launch game status and people that played it, enjoyed it as it is.

Which reboots gave you that sensation?

I'm pretty sure no old-school fan would be happy with it, or at least (not saying they couldn't like it) be disappointed with how they handed it out. They messed up the story. They rendered the time-based structure meaningless. They pretty much made a game that really wasn't Dead Rising and called it Dead Rising.

It was a different game though. Games have to evolve, actually most of the complaints on the original game is on the timed missions which were very archaic even for 7th gen.

The problem is that Dead Rising is a game whose gameplay structure is based around a timer, with the "being at the correct time in the correct place" to make things progress.
People who demanded no timer simply weren't fans of the original games. As a result we have DR3, which features a timer but the game doesn't really need it as it does absolutely nothing to its structure, all to satisfy people who didn't really like the games in the first place.

It's definitively a crippled game.

I think people wanted an open world zombie action game period.
Limitation is something not tolerated this gen, be it technically or gameplay wise.
