Is E3 relevant?

Yes, because... 137 78.29%

No, because... 38 21.71%

Total:175

As you must know, we are only 2 weeks far from starting the biggest video game event in the year. In the last years, we have seen the constant expansion of other shows like the Tokio Game Show and the Gamescom.

However, E3 has remain as the big event. So far.

Even when some companies had their own events and conferences, nothing have surpassed the excitement that the inocent week in the middle of June (lately) has brought to the media.

A lot  of companies get ready their biggest announcements. Like a new dark Zelda game like Twilight Princess or a very asked remake like Final Fantasy VII. The bombs are thrown in that week. Coverage of the media press is all over the internet. Demos fly on the booths and impressions are written without stop.

But, is E3 relevant anymore? Is that simple week still the biggest event? What do you think?

In my opinion, E3 is still relevant, the biggest event of the year and the best oportunity to reach mass appeal (except for Apple).

Yes.

Not to mention all the press, that convey that information, onto news sites.

Its in movie theatre and on TV for crying out loud.

Nobody ever said E3 is not relevant. You yourself say it's still relevant.

Why is this thread?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Already forgot about last years FF7 REmake/Shenmue 3/The last guardian? Or perhaps the previous year where Sony make an impact by announcing they wouldn't have console DRM and Microsoft fell flat on their face.

Of course it's still relevant.

For Nintendo? Meh... i don't think they know how to make presentations very well. And the american branch doesn't seem to have the necessary power to make it work. The japanese branch hamstrings them.

Stop reading Nintendo threads!

If you call yourself a gamer, then you should find E3 very relevant. Its our Christmas

Yes. It is a coming together of everyone in the video game industry to celebrate video games. Sometimes there's big announcements, sometimes the show is underwhelming, but the very fact that the anticipation is always there in the gaming community is enough to confirm that E3 is indeed still relevant.

I'd rather be playing Metroid Prime

It's relevant because they could announce a new Suikoden game.
