What's that? Never heard of it XD whats it on? PC, PS4, etc?

Quantic Dreams game, Detroit : becomeing human.

Have you watched the Kara Tech Demo (back on the PS3) ? thats where this started:

Oh that's very interesting. I'll have to keep an eye on that. Robots always seem to be in Detroit or Tokyo in movies/games, I swear XD

I'd be jealous of their immortality, but that's about it. I'd accept a sentient AI. As the only difference is one was made by science I'm made by 2 people having sex.

There are jelly fish that are immortal.

They can reverse their own ageing proccesses, and start over, when they get so old it effects them.

Im not sure just becauase we re biological we have to die either.

Id bet you anything, somewhere out there is a guy working on slowing down the ageing proccess, or genetically modifing things to live much longer than they should.

Eventually we ll do it to ourselves as well.

Play with our own genes and make super humans, that just live much longer (if not forever).

I don't think the first part is neccessarily true. Some robots may be made (in the future in this example) to be just like humans. I think the line between what is and isn't true sentience is where the debate of if they should be considered equals, starts

Sooo, what would be the purpose of a robot made to be just like a human ? a robot by definition is a semi-perfect machine, why would you want to humanize it, making it more flawed ?

Just for scientific purposes. Seeing how close we can get to making something life-like. Kinda like making realistic games, we don't HAVE to, we can create games with absolute perfect people, but people tend to prefer more like-like organic looks in their games, or some do, at least. Basically, because we can, because it's an interesting concept.

Haha I was aware of the jellyfish thing.

Google are open about them looking into 'life prelonging' and other companies, it's just wether it'll happen in our lifetime, and whether I'd even be able to have access to it.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Sadly its not something I suspect we ll live to see.

Who doesnt wanna live forever?

I'm pretty shure that for scientific purposes anything we would be interested in would be something biological, not mechanical, I mean what do you want to see ? how a robot interacts with people ? when we still don't fully understand how people interact with eachother ? Imho it's useless research :v

One of my main reasons for wanting to is curiousity. I want to see what Life is like in 2500, or at least see if we survive that long and what hurdles we have to overcome along the way. Just to be a bystander to that would be great.

At least we're lucky enough to witness the most innovative and exciting time of human history so far. Thankfully I wasn't born 1000 years ago.

Until the robots achieve consciousness it's irrelevant, and once they've done that it's already too late for us!

Gonna be interesting to see how things go in the future. Possibly something like this will happen and if it does, some people will obviously protect them, while others try to hurt them. It's human nature to be wary of something you don't completely understand, but that doesn't mean we should act harshly against them if they truly do become self aware. I'm kind of optimistic about everything, so I think it is possible for it to end well, but humans are very flawed creatures and will no doubt be scared at first, but hopefully start to become more welcoming to people different to them. In a way this can be applied to any race, species, etc. I just think there is hope for everyone to be happy in the end.

Kind of rambled on a little there xD

It doesn't depend if the robot looks like us. What I think is important is if a robot or a computer can "think" independently. As soon as a machine is capable of thought as an independent Artificial Intelligence, it's not a machine anymore.
