Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Next Big Step for 3D Mario?

If NX doesn't have any original input device don't expect much revolution beyond some possible new attacks or dynamic/interesting level designs.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Super Mario NX should be the new Super Mario 64. A lot of new mechanics and gameplay design to show off the NX. I want to explore the mushroom kingdom.

It needs to go back to Mario 64 & Galaxy ways.
The trying to look like a 2D mario in 3D is a failour I think.

I just wonder when they're going to realize my dream and make a time traveling 3D platform Mario game... It could be so awesome!

And none of that crap educational games either x (

If NX has those weel-like triggers that were in the patent I think they could pull off some quite interesting mecanic, just to demonstrate that those weels aren't needed just for quick inventory switching...

How about a N64 type 3D mario with way bigger levels so you can explore more in the game. Also make quests less obvious and let gamers find out for themselves how to obtain the stars. So a bigger emphasis on exploration seems like the next big step. Perhaps multiple art styles which vary by level is also a nice touch.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

What if they made it so the in-game world was big enough to be an entire planet? Unless of course that can't be done with current hardware developments.

like, a real planet?

Can we go back to the 64 colectathon days? The 3D series is great and all, but another Mario 64-like game would be nice.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

No Mans Sky.

Its a intire universe.

I think a planet can easily be done.

Not sure what the point of that would be for a mario game though.

You do stuff that big, your throwing level design outta the window.

Level design is the key to platformers being good.

we need a Super Mario Galaxy 3 but mario also has the FLUDD
