The starters in X/Y are the best since the original 3 imo, I liked that they were themed on the 3 common RPG classes.

But yeah, I can guarantee you now that it's final evo will have access to Ice Beam and Blizzard at minimum, and likely Ice Punch. I honestly wish GF didn't automatically give every Water type access to Ice moves. It makes Ice Pokemon completley pointless, and makes it far too easy for Water types to overcome what should be a weakness.

 

Well it makes sense, since Ice is just frozen Water (see Avatar TLA lol), but I agree that they need to make being an Ice type less of a hindrance and more of a boon. Same with Grass type.

i actually thin popllio looks cool! I even find all of them tempting but i'll probably go with litten because he might evolve into a fire/dark panther :P

Yeah it makes sense,  but I still don't think every single Water type should have a free Ice Beam just because ice = frozen water. I think it should be limited more toward Pokemon based on animals that actually stay in waters that get close to frigid temperatures. Things like seals and penguins make sense, but when we're talking about freshwater weasels and exotic goldfish, not so much.
