3 million in a month. A big success, no doubt. Not much of a niche series anymore.

It certainly was "niche", but finally People are starting to understand the game's not THAT "hard", it's just unforgiving and challenging.
And it's a stellar series

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

From Software is going to have fun making this an annualized series or at the very least biennial LOL ...

No quality dips so far.

I see a dark souls 4 coming soon, and not because From Software wants to milk it, but Miyazaki seems to be that kind of guy; "We could've done this area and that boss better, let's make a new DS to rectify it"

Well, I kinda hope so, biennial at least. Their track record is just excellent. From Software managed to keep high quality thorough out the "series". And I personally can't get enough of them. I believe they already confirmed that DSIII will be the last in the series, so thier next game will probably feature a different world and gameplay elements, kinda like Bloodborne. That if it is not Bloodborne II.

They are making 3 major expansions for DSIII though. So I don't think DSIV is reqired for that. Also:

"I don't think it'd be the right choice to continue indefinitely creating Souls and Bloodborne games. I'm considering Dark Souls 3 to be the big closure on the series. That's not just limited to me, but From Software and myself together want to aggressively make new things in the future...Dark Souls 3 is an important marker in the evolution of From Software."

They may as well just have two teams working on the spiritual successors to Demons/Dark Souls and Bloodborne at this point ...

Didn't they have a second development team (helped by SCEAJ staff) for Bloodborne though ?

They could make bianneal releases with 4 years dev time per game, which is more than enough IMO.

Bloodborne did have technical help from the SIE ATG team alright ...

Great numbers. Certainly deserved them. Kinda makes me sad that DS3 will be the last one according to Miyazaki, but you never know what will happen in the future...

On a side note, I don't really like how DS3 will be milked with DLCs. Didn't like it in DS2, don't like it here either.

Never kinda understood why this series was considered niche in the first place, considering every entry cracked two million units at minimun. And I'm also counting Demon's Souls and Bloodborne here.
