* Thread Warning * - Several of you guys have gone too far with your comments. Bottom line - unless you can provide data/statistics to back up these statements (you know who you are), another post like it and it's a ban for sure.

I need some context here - you warned one user who was commenting on another post which was racist.  What gives?

A ban for what, stating inconvenient truths... ? Are you for real? I feel like James Watson, get a grip!

141, but that was 10 years ago. Also I think IQ tests are pretty much useless. At least in my case, it was just a single test. If I would have had a bad day or something at that particular day, I could have easily gotten a score below 100 or something. Also, I knew of the test two weeks in advance. Plenty of time to prepare myself. I don't know if the tests today are different, but mine means nothing at all to me.

Same. But its damn useful to have these documents at hand, for your CV, if not just a nice memento for later life. Heck, I have almost every cert or results for almost all tests I've taken after 12 or 13ish. I haven't seen them in years but its nice to know they are there, ya know?

It's nice to have that number, I'm not entirely sure would it be something to add to a C.V. I mean I guess you could but it's worth keeping in mind there have been a lot of studies on the IQ system to show it's flawed, a fast google on it brings up stories such as

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/iq-tests-are-fundamentally-flawed-and-using-them-alone-to-measure-intelligence-is-a-fallacy-study-8425911.html

the main part of this to take away is simply "“It has always seemed to be odd that we like to call the human brain the most complex known object in the Universe, yet many of us are still prepared to accept that we can measure brain function by doing a few so-called IQ tests,” Dr Highfield said."

Outside of the simple fact that measuring someones intelligence as a 3 (hopefully) digit number based on a series of questions is a complete farce you also have the fact that people can have "off days" or even off hours or minutes, heck you could have the most powerful brain on the planet, but have it in the body of someone who suffers from anxiety or nerves when it comes to testing like this so the test results of the person would be incorrect (more so).

From another article

"Quite a few IQ tests measure “general knowledge.” Here’s an actual IQ question this lister came across when he was 5: “What color is an apple?” Well, the only apples this lister had seen in his first 5 years were green. Got that one wrong. There are quite a few colors of apples. Some are more than one color. Mensa’s test includes questions like, “2D is to mobius strip as 3D is to ______.” Google says the answer is “Klein bottle.” Now that we know, are we smarter? Einstein once said that he did not like to clutter up his memory with facts and numbers that he could just look up in a dictionary."

general knowledge questions deciding the ability of your brain power, amazing.

The context is simple - don't post anything like it. No matter who started what.

Don't let a new/alt account be the cause of another, possibly loyal, users banning. Also, I think this grapgh might settle things. He was rather accurate in all honesty, we are slightly below the world average.Average national IQs according to IQ and the Global Inequality   ≤65   70   75   80   85   90   95   100   ≥105   N/A

As in the end of my comment just above this, many people of Africa might not have seen an apple nor would know what a mobius strip is, that said they might also be far more intelligent in ways such as cultivating crops in arid deserts which many people in western society would not be capable of, as fantastic as it would be to know trivia and general knowledge, pubquiz intelligence is of little use to staying alive in harsh conditions, but the lack of it doesn't mean that the people as a whole have brains which are less capable in general.

I actually knew the answer to that haha. And also, Mensa can eat shit, because true Klein bottles can only exist in 4D.

Hmmm... *Rubs stubbled, chin slowly* Errr... *Looks at cieling, shaking index finger* Ahhh...*Scratches head* ...What do you mean by this?

Your random spelling (like in this thread where you go from "aptitude" to apptidude" in a matter of two lines) and the thought processes that go into your threads in general. Not unlike zero129 who is also Irish, but I guess that your usual breakfast doesn't consist of half a bottle of whisky.

EDIT: Although ganoncrotch is also Irish and he doesn't share the aforementioned traits, so it's not like all Irish people are like that.

Also, for the record, zero129 is my buddy. That whisky thing is an ongoing joke.

Heh, just clicked on this to add a sad smiley face and to say that not all Irish people are allergic to proof reading comments!

I know John that IQ is not a spelling test though but still if you are making different mistakes on the same words in a single post it isn't a case of not knowing the correct spelling of the word, it is not caring which you use which can make reading posts a little tough, especially ones related to intelligence.

Also Rol I'm a teetotaler so that could be something to do with it, great fun at parties and whatnot :D

That proves it, you are smarter than me in everyway, because I didn't have a clue what it was called even looking at a picture in the article I nabbed that from, I was just thinking.... fleshlight?

Don't ever bother with these test's. They're almost never correct, and frankly I'm smart enough to have a decent job (which for me is enough to assume I'm fine).

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Haha, if you are interested I suggest looking up Numberphile's video on it.

a 90. My parents and I were so happy that I received an A on the IQ test!
