Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Could this be the reason NX hits in March 2017?

Do you think this is what the NX will be?

Yes, this is the future of Nintendo. 26 22.81%

No, Nintendo would never do this to me. 67 58.77%

Oh crap, my internet will not support this. 21 18.42%

This is a very good reason that would explain why NX is launching in March 2017 without ever being shown at E3.

Because the NX is NOT a gaming console. It's a steaming service where games play from a server online.

This video has opened a whole new world of speculation.

EDIT: Boogie also says the NX will be a steaming device. Here's his video.

Nah, the NX could have a streaming service and other features but it's going to be a console.

Still just speculation.

I'm pretty sure the thing will be hardware. Whether they need more time to make the games, or to adapt the existing hardware to the new competition is the question.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

nope. zelda wouldnt need to get ported. ps3 games that play on psnow dont get ported either.

a Dongle.... and a streaming services.... where you stream games.

If thats true, its probably the first nintendo "console" I wont get.

I dont believe this rumor btw.

I think it would be a normal piece of hardware. Maybe they'll add a subscription option with that hardware. I'd love that. I spend probably 40/50 € a month in videogames, so if it's cheaper, great. If not, you wouldn't have to be a subscriber. I just hope they don't block online multiplayer behind a paywall. Let's see.

A streaming box would make it VERY easy for third party developers to get onboard. They just have to port their game to the NX server.

The holy grail for third parties would be a gaming system that requires no physical production of media, packaging and shipping costs. This would drag all the multi platform game developers to Nintendo kicking and screaming, but eager for all the extra profits.

NX has been announced as dedicated gaming hardware.

Skipping E3 is easily explained by E3's diminishing relevance and Nintendo being insistent on being secretive until close before launch.

You have a fundemental misunderstanding of the literal point of streaming, which is to not need hardware.

You also have a fundemental misunderstanding of how streaming works. Streaming isn't some nebulous ether of easy-to-port airware. It runs on hardware just like everything else. It would be no easier to port games than it is now.

Also, Nintendo doesn't need to stream to not have physical.
