Yeah, but pretty much every AAA game has this problem and they still manage to get in the high 80's and 90's. Thats not an excuse. I also happen to have a system to play it, unfortunatly its called a PC and thus far I am not ready to invest in a subpar port.

I will end up playing it one day as I do with every Remedy game, but for everyone whom I heard that they liked the game, there are equal ammount of people who disliked it. SO this one has to contend with a bargain purchase.

So based off 4 negative reviews out of 100 and 2 being 10/10s it comes under a bargain purchase?

This game is not broken or a mess like i stated so any review that placed this under a 5 i wont take serious. Its a Remedy game,  they know what there doing.

The same thing happen to Alan Wake, had alot of mixed reviews yet years later gamers saw that it was actually a gem and many class Alan Wake as there favorite last gen game and that scored in the low 8s.

Dont take Metacritic serious, trust me they havnet been accurate in years.

No, its a bargain purchase because of the overall reception, I do not believe that for me it wil be a 4/10 experience. I also liked Alan Wake, but not 60$ liked. Im kinda glad that I have waited for a budget PC version for that to. Again, I do like how the game overall looks, but I have way to many games on my plate right now, to be able to push it up on my list, so yeah, probably going to play it at the end of the year when I usually have a bit more spare time.

I hosted the Official Quantum Break Thread to house all news on the game, but in this case, I had to make an exception. Let's get this out of the way - the game is astonishing - and I haven't even completed it (I'll have a separate review thread for that).

The game is innovative, interesting, visually stunning, and above all - fun! It's been a long time since a title has captured my imagination like this, but Quantum Break fails at very little. The T.V. Show is the icing on the cake. Each Episode is riddled with engaging cinematography - always keeping the player wanting to know what's going to happen next. I won't go into too much detail, but I invite any and all Quantum Break fans to join in the discussion.

Now I know, some will point at its 77 Metascore (a good score, mind you) and think I'm crazy. Well, for those who haven't played it, do yourself a favor, just this once, ignore any negative reviews and give it a shot! Seriously! It's easily my GOTY and I'm not sure if there's much else that will sway the pendulum. As many of you know, I'm huge on screenshots, so I'll be posting what I was able to capture (all Windows 10 version). Either way, if you only have an Xbox One (I have that version, as well), and haven't played this yet, I advise you - pick it up..........NOW!

I'll be happy to answer any questions to those out of the loop.

Ok now i need this game.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoooooa!

Okay now, the game was good and fun but let's not get carried away!  Buy it with reasonable expectations and you'll be fine. As good as it is, there's room for improvement and after the initial run through, I've blasted through the game in no time (though I was more powerful). If you think it's the greatest game ever based on someone else's experience, you'll walk away pissed. But it with confidence and enjoy.

I really want to play this game. Regardless of reviews, I think it's the coolest looking game so far this gen, but I just can't bring myself to spend $60 on a videogame. I even waited until the Witcher 3 was half priced to buy it, and I was hyped as hell for that game.

NES games used to be $40 😂

I used to pay $50! I'd get one of two games a year and trade with friends. When I saw some crappy games selling for $20, I lost my shit ( though I still couldn't buy them. Damn child labor laws...). Rented a lot, too. And some N64 games were $79.99!

This was easily the best game I've played this year, and might even be better than most of what I played last year. The way they mixed 3 different mediums of storytelling into one seamless, cohesive and engaging package is something that should be applauded above anything else that's going on in this industry right now.

I dislike TV shows in general for the most part (especially modern ones) but Quantum Break's episodes didn't feel like TV shows, they felt like a real part of the game that let you take a short break from controlling Jack and have some time to see what was going on from the opposite point of view and getting immersed into the "villain's" side of the story in a different way than you do Jack's.

All the things you can read in the game contribute some HUGE and important plot points that fill in the gaps that the gameplay and TV show don't cover, and they were really fun, humorous, and well-written, almost like a book or a comic. I loved how interesting they made these reading documents, in the same way they did with Alan Wake.

I was compelled by the story from start to finish and the game still took me 12-13 hours just to finish one play-through since I was actually taking the time to explore and getting immersed in the world. The well-researched scientific ideas and theories based on the real things scientists know and are working on in the world today was so refreshing to see and really contributed to the story's authenticity to someone like me who comes from things like Star Trek or real-world science.

It seems most people (including reviewers) who played it were more concerned about rushing through it as quickly as possible and skipping all the live action episodes so they could get online and complain about how short it was (after skipping literally half of the game and the story.)

That's another thing that many people already stated in this thread too, is that a good chunk of the reviews were an absolute joke that wasn't even critiquing anything besides the length of the game and how "bad" the cover system was, when you weren't supposed to be relying on cover in the first place, but that's a whole other discussion that's already been done ad nauseam.

I can't wait to see if they expand this with more DLC or a sequel, and Remedy generally always delivers.

Here's just a few of my personal screen shots I took while playing:

Around the Network

Definitely agree with CGI about the characters. Every single one of them seemed like a real person. And they're facial expressions, even when they were just delivering random lines were spot on. I took a ton of screenshots and videos because I was often in awe of what was going on.

Regular environments don't amaze like water, plants, etc but this game has a clean look and it did some amazing things with time and destruction. Whole bridges would crumble buy what caught my attention were the minor firefights where background objects took realistic and believable damage.

I will add, now that after the patch they just released. Turning off the film grain and upscaling the game looks so much better.

May be time for me to start it. Halo 5, Rocket League and Killer Instinct are taking up my time at the moment. Too much shit to play. Still haven't started Witcher 3.

SAD FACE

ILol I remember when Vanquish came out, and what you said about review scores lol. So going against the grain is what you do, kind of like the Sea Hawks. I was going to buy Vanquish, though.
I think hardcore gamers, don't care about reveiw scores. Hope to play this in the future. No you're not crazy

This is an underrated game.
