Microsoft didn't delay Halo 2 to the 360, so there's no comparison.

No, but they delayed Perfect Dark Zero & Kameo: Elements of Power and moved them from Xbox to 360 without even making them cross-gen.

If you think companies can be trusted to do that you're very naive.

It will actually benefit Microsoft more than anyone else. By doing this, people will buy more games for the system and increase the likelyhood of them buying the next xbox system if it has backwards compatability.

Or people will move on to a system that lets them own their own games.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Because the OG Xbox was quite powerful it didnt need a successor yet and it got plenty of software support from third parties

Developers wanted the limited use of games, so that would force more people to buy more games, which means more profits.

This will still happen, discs are going away if not nex-gen, I see the gen after that. At that point users will be forced to buy their own games.

Microsoft always listen to devs when creating their consoles. The devs wanted DRM. But the gamers said no, so Microsoft pulled back.

See Nintendo killing off the wii u, just a little over 4 years, Microsoft was criticized for this, but when Nintendo does it, it's ok.

To be fair, the Wii U was a big flop.

I agree but software can still sell, lets just see if Nintendo continue to support the system with more than just breath of the wild.

So I take it this was bumped to gloat about the Wii U's discontinuance. But, doesn't your OP already cover that subject?
