I doubt it will only play movies. Probably doesn't even need to upgrade specs for that.

Though history tells us that this kind of move was never fully embraced by tge market, so i don't expect it to start now. I personally am not interested in buying the same system twice. Not at 400€.

The PS4.5 would never have been able to game at 4K - the technology isn't there for the price point they will be aiming for. If you consider a GPU that can play 30FPS 4K games is around $600, all we will see is HDMI 2.0 but hopefully a more powerful GPU simply because the one in the PS4 was pretty weak, even at launch. If they threw in something from the upcoming Pascal range with HBM2, or even GDDR5X that would give the PS4 more relevance over the next few years, especially with VR emerging.

It's pretty simple in the end. Are you satisfied with the power of the PS4? Good, just Roll with it. Want more? Get a PS4K.

I know about all that talk about optimization and stuff, but come on. We're talking about two configurations. Which brings me back to Apple. They by now have to deal with dozens of configurations and still fragmentation isn't a problem at all. So chill the fuck out, it won't be comparable to PCs.

The only real reason I see for people going mad about this is jealousy. Some young folks who can't afford the new console but are butthurt just because some other People Will Play on stronger hardware. Well, tough luck. Get over it.
