So I've been interested in the dark souls series for awhile and Dark souls 3 is coming out soon. Should I get Dark souls in any order like 1,2 then 3 or should I just go ahead and get 3 first? Would I be missing out on any story elements or?
Story is a weird aspect of this whole franchise because nothing is outright told to the player. You pretty much have to discover the lore by yourself.
I'd say you'd be missing references, easter eggs and small plot details, but no problem if you go straight to Dark Souls 3 from the get-go. I'd say play Dark Souls 1 because it's a damn fine masterpiece of a game.

Blighttown would be tolerable if the machines could handle its awesomeness. I think most of the problems it had was the player having to work at 10fps.

The story sounds interesting. Is it any good? I never hear anything about the story I know the main attraction is that the game is hard. And also how do the prices usually work for Dark souls? Do they go down in price somewhat fast because I know I could get 1 and 2 for like 40 bucks on amazon.

This saddens me. I loved Demon/Dark 1/and Bloodborne, but DS2 was always meh to me. Got half way through and stopped.

Definitely buy both before Dark Souls 3 because they are masterpieces!!!
If you play Dark Souls 3 before both it will be harder for you to enjoy them imo.
DS 1 is a great game so i recommend playing it...
...but these aren't the kind of games where you need to play the 1st game to enjoy the next game.
so your choice. pick up any of the games in any order you want as far as i'm concerned.
