Just finished reading Skill of Lure. I mentioned it last week, but it's a cute Korean rom-com with some ecchi humor. Had some very minor complaints, but the relationship between the MC and FMC was delightful to read. Kinda sad it's over.

I don't read a lot of manwha...so I'd be curious what commonalities they share with this one I enjoyed. Facial expressions were a lot different than what I'm used to...but I supposed even manga aren't completely consolidated on that. Reading left to right though...WHAT IS THIS CRAZINESS.

OK, so a few days ago I did a spur of the moment purchase. I got 2 Death Note books, which covers volume 1-4, and a Dragon Ball book, which covers volumes 1-3. So, my journey begins I guess? I did read a bit of Death Note while in France.

Good buy with the Death Note books They're really great reads. I dunno about DB though. Never read those.

Yeah, though I forgot just how quick it is reading through the books. Even with the size and number of pages, they seem to go by pretty quickly!

That tends to happen with good stories Did you finish yours already?

Not yet. I worked last evening, or else I might have!

Hinamatsuri is such a fun series.  It's so dramatic and ridiculous that I'm smiling like an idiot most of the time I'm reading it.

A mid-level Yakuza boss is relaxing one day when a girl appears out of nowhere and lands on his head.  She then decides she is going to live with him.  Since she is a high level esper formerly from a secret organization, there isn't much he can do about it.  It's about more than that, though, as the characters around them are always evolving and a lot of them are hilarious.  It's a very dynamic series.

I had to spend the entire week catching up to five weeks of manga ugh.

Magi: These Alibaba focused chapters have been great. He no,t only feels like the main MC again, he feels like a GREAT MC again.

Boku No Hero : I have been loving these chapters especially the last one. Twice is awesome as a character; I really liked how Horikoshi really went personal with the League of Villains. Shiragaki is the one that stole the show/arc for me. Ever since he encountered Overhaul, I know that Overhaul would be a capable villain. However, I never expected him to go the route he is going. There's a deeper resolve and motivation with him beyond his more laid bad conversations and wiser methods. The parallels really show why he is truly a better villain that Overhaul and potentially that much more dangerous later. That being said, I'm scared now more than ever for Lumillion, based on Hiroshima's fight Rappa got beaten several times by him. I really hope there is a hero that can catch up soon.
Speaking of Kirishima: I really liked the development they gave his character. More importantly, that villain in his youth that spooked him in the past to quit applying to U.A... I think there is going to be something much deeper regarding that character in the future (unless it was mistranslated) because his dialogue was very peculiar. They really messed up Lock quick. Rule 1: if you show your powers the first time and they explain it, then you proceed to go into another fight, you're probably going down.

One Piece: I really like Dogtooth as a character. Such an amazing character. Pudding got me with her tsundere façade. I feel bad for King Baum. I wonder what's going to happen with Bege due to this? Also did anyone see the poll? Lol Cavendish is too much. XD

Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa: Really started to slow down. Hopefully it trudges along to a decent ending since that is what they are going for. I miss the slice of life and best girl.

The Promised Neverland: The fact that this manga continues to be amazing after the first arc is, in and of itself, amazing. However I am worried how they are going to deal with the demons tracking them once they leave the forest. More importantly, the flower's significance. Just wow. That really stings.

Still catching up to everything else and I think this week is a holiday so I guess I can start reading more of them to pass this week.

Well, I read a bit of 2 manga tonight, Saki-Biyori and Hinamatsuri.

Saki-Biyori has some cute art, but I didn't really get the jokes and the story is pretty confusing... Actually, I'm not really sure what it's about...

Hinamatsuri though was quite interesting. It was a little confusing as well, but pretty funny. The girl is pretty calm, despite having some crazy powers and casually dealing with some serious situations. Actually, so is her guardian. I think it's the art style, which is pretty relaxed and realistic, not using the usual exaggerated expressions in other manga. Sometimes the artwork seems odd, like the girl looking really short in one panel, but then taller in another. It can be inconsistent at times. It's definitely fun and interesting though.

I would imagine you'd have a hard time with Saki-Biyori!  It's a Saki 4-koma spin-off.  It's the characters from that being cute and funny.

Hinamatsuri is awesome.  It can be funny one minute and touching the next.  So many of the supporting characters have plenty of spot-light chapters where they grow and evolve.

Also, Hitomi's mom is SO CUTE.  She is also an online RPG gamer, amazingly enough.

Yeah, I enjoyed what I read and the dynamic between the yakuza guy and girl is quite great. The art style is interesting enough that I want to see more of it, so I'll add this one to my list as well, haha.

Anyone read Dungeon Meshi?  I know it's gotten pretty popular in Japan and had good critical response.  I've just started reading but I like it so far.

While exploring the deepest parts of the dungeon, Laius and his party lose most of their food to traps.  When they run across a Red Dragon, they're not at their best because they're hungry.  His little sister, while being swallowed, casts a spell on the others to teleport them outside the dungeon.  Now they need to go back in order to beat the dragon and resurrect her before ... well, she "passes through" (a slow process for dragons, it seems).

The problem is that they lost all their food and money.  Thus, the main character decides that they will live off what the dungeon provides and eat monsters (something he wanted to try, anyway).  This does not go over well with their Elven Mage but they set out anyway.

It's half RPG adventure/comedy and half cooking manga.
