Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft to unify PC and Xbox One platforms, ending fixed console hardware

Told you.

Now we just wait for PS Now to succeed PS4. I'm actually saving the crow buffet I'm serving for when all three platforms are confirmed to be what I said they'd be.

So Xbone is literally dead and soon they will release a new console with win10 OS and release games on PC as well.  Third party devs will be making game apps for their console and Win 10 PC ?

Oh my bad, I forgot that internet forums are the place where I have to flood a few thousand posts before other weirdos will start taking you seriously, thanks for reminding. Less and less reasons to visit these places each year, start to forget things.

If that was directed at me, I don't get it, There was no sarcasm. I liked your post.

Potentially very smart move by Microsoft depending on how they manage it, they could become the market leader because of this and this ensures pretty much every third party game and that Sony can't ever undercut them with better hardware again.

Cheaper route will still be buying a Xbox One over a PC that can play MS games at 1080p (or higher) and at 60 FPS.

Xbox One in general plays MS games in 900p/30 FPS. Sad but true.

The whole unification thing is nothing more than adding value to Win10 at expense of X1. Because of Xbone weak console sales= weak sales of games = publishing games with loss.

1080P? I would assume 4K Xboxes will happen fairly soon for those that are willing to pony up soon.

This is going to be interesting. I think MS is going to focus more on becoming a STEAM killer. It's smart. That's going to be a bigger piece of pie than than the old fixed console model.

Fine, but I highly doubt that.

I'm just not sure of the logistics of how this works? Does this mean Street Fighter V and Final Fantasy XIV will be playable on an Xbox One? Can I play PC games like Sim City on my XBox?

I don't think they will win against Steam tbh, not with all the features Steam has along with the parties that willingly sell on Steam and then there's the mod support which MS for years has been dismissive of. Only way they can truly kill off Steam is to become exactly like Steam, though that would involve MS having to change how it operates and sells and I don't see them ever going all the way on that.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

This is going to be interesting because Spencer himself mentioned being able to run games in 4K resolution on an Xbox model.

The whole "hardware cycle" concept has now been thrown for a loop. Effectively the next-gen Xbox could be here like next year now, so a year from now I could be playing Killer Instinct on my TV in 2K/4K resolution.

This is interesting, PS4 is going to be pretty outdated fast.
