That's awful xDDD. But, yeah, it's very likely that the next game won't come until the middle of NX's life cycle, so... That's why I prefer closed endings on videogames, so we don't have to wait an eternity. Maybe they aren't even thinking about closing the story. I'd be very pissed if that's the case xDD.
Good grief, if they just leave this story hanging, I'll be pissed. Waiting years for XCX only to be given an unfinished story was frustrating enough...
You certainly won't be alone in this. Imagine if they only pull a Disaster 2 on the NX. The world would explode, and knifes would fly. We know that sometimes Nintendo is expert in giving people what they don't want XDD.
The game is awesome in every front: story, design, characters, gameplay, soundtrack.
I just think that Xenoblade Chronicles X is not a fitting name for it, because it doesn´t have nothing to do with the first Xenoblade Chronicles and its characters. Is should be a different name because in a certain way it may confuse some people.
I think the characters and presentation generally fail the story. For the main story you have some pretty dull characters who never seem to have properly emoted faces with what they are saying, and on the side story you don't have voice acting at all which can leave what should be extremely heart wrenching moments falling flat, not to mention that it's difficult to get emotional about characters you were literally just introduced to.
If I ignore presentation then both the main story and side quests are fairly interesting, but as it stands it detracts too much for me to really care about either.
Xeno X definitely aim to the sequel. Story itself have some good controversial points to discuss:
1. J-bodies and Eleonora's role. Game introduced Yelw's case, in which fake memories were implanted into mim. I guess Cross character is actual j-body with no memories implanted at all. This explain "amnesia" and creation/customisation thing. We still know nothing about project goals or what the hell is "phase two".
2. Mira is artificial planet that was created by Alvis centuries ago. This explain Nopons, Telethia, Hom Homs, tons of references to the plot of XBC. Near-Mira space attracts any species's ships and forbid to leave the planet for anyone.
3. Alvil appears in L's form as a witness.
4. There are actually three "White Whale" ships that crashed on Mira. Neo-Tokyo and Neo-Paris is placed somewhere on the planet.
5. You can notice huge tower in "Secret Files of Mira" guidebook. It can be translator/interpreter of any language on Mira.
6. All the ancient weapons in Oblivia react to your Doll. You can hear bizzare sounds:
I love the story, it was pretty epic. My only complaints about the game are the level 60 cap and the non existent character that is your avatar. I wish it was more like Mass Effect in that way.
I don't think the story is "very good", but it's decent. Just that. "Decent". It's all a bunch of cliches put together very well, but still a bunch a cliches. It does have it's shortcomings, terrible main villain and Lao's story should've been build up a little more IMO. I don't know.
Story aside, the fact that the game forces you to play with 2 characters (Elma and Lin) the whole game to get trough the story is a feature I very much disliked and everything Tatsu-related, in general, I hated.
