People IMO need to start treating Amiibo as a part of the whole game-buying experience when it comes to Nintendo.

I cant say I really agree with this. Nintendo should respect that not all their consumers want amiibos for ingame content.

That said, I am not disagreeing with you as much as I am the notion from the OP that Nintendo deserves 'respect', which I find quite laughable.

That said, going forward, Amiibos do indeed seem to be part of the Nintendo gaming buying culture.

Which they have by only letting amiibo unlock small stuff. People just like complaining. Just look at any Fire Emblem: Fates video, the community is so toxic.

The problem with amiibo is that people does not seem to be smart enough to realize that the extremely lame content they unlock would have never existed on the first place if wasnt for amiibo. But it sounds so good to say "Nintendo is locking content behind a 10000$ paywall", even if that content is a Kirby skin, 1 extra life once a day or an empty room full of enemies, and they would never have existed without amiibo, but is a trend to hate in absolutely everything they do without thinking first and also the perfect food for haters. Some people dont want amiibo, but they dont realize that without amiibo you will have actually less stuff in your games. Not that it matters since that stuff is lame, thats why I dont buy them.

Or maybe we are smart enough to understand bussiness decisions that affect us as consumers, rather than defend a company that sees us as another number.

So you are bashing on others to make a point about Nintendo, again?
"There is worse going on" it's probably the poorest argument ever.

I don't know what is the problem with this case, if the amiibo is inflating the natural price of the game, as in it being cheaper if it's not there and it's full price because it's always there or with a concern if those will stop being sold with the game after a while, dunno, but if people have a problem with something it's not because EA is doong worse for example that it makes it be less of a problem.

People should show concern and point issues on anything, one of the biggest problems is people pretending they are not there and training a company to think it's ok because there was no real feedback, that was how some good amount of bad practices today took place and became norm, you are bringing harm to Nintendo if you are over protecting it just because you liked them in the past, and also proving so if you can poont others problem but can't accept it being pointed that way.

Indeed. The poorest argument to defend a bad decision is to point how the other one is doing the same. That reeks desperation.

In the case of Zelda TP, there's absolutely no way you can make that claim.

Chrono Trigger for DS: (Originally on SNES)
- New end game dungeon, new final boss. Not DLC. Free of charge.

No More Heroes Paradise for PS3: (Originally on Wii)
- New missions, modes, bosses, etc. Not DLC. Free of charge.

Tales of Graces F for PS3: (Originally for Wii)
10 hours of extra storyline that takes place after the main story ends. New dungeons, bosses, playable characters, battle mechanics, etc. Not DLC. Free of charge.

Some times deveklopers add extra meaningful content to their ports, without putting them behind a DLC paywall.

And not only that, let's remember OoT 3D Master Quest or SM64DS additions for free.

So people should respect nintendo for not price gouging their fans when they actually do? Nintendo's game prices probably stay the most elevated out of the big 3 for no apparent reason other than to make more money off of their games. Isn't that what everyone else is doing with DLC, remasters, paid online services? Doesn't nintendo use DLC also?

No, Ninten is in the wrong here, as I think you are. The amiibo is not free. You gotta shell extra for that, and it has something that should have been on the game already. If they really wanted to be nice about it, they should have had the bundle be 50 USDs or less with no things attached to the game. They should have had it separate as well for people who just want the figurine.

It's there as an incentive for people who already played the game before. For some less meaningful things like Kirby hats and stuff, sure, that might very well not have existed without the Amiibo. But in the case of the new dungeon in the remastered version of Zelda TP, we will never know.

TPHD also has new stuff without amiibo. The new ghost lantern, the mirrored hero mode from the get-go, the gameplay improvements, the gamepad functionalities, the 50 new collectibles to find around Hyrule... That cave is not an extra dungeon or anything similar, is an empty room with lots of enemies, wow.

You guys who think the amiibo is bullshit, let me just ask a question: what do you think the functionality of the amiibo should even be? Do you think the game should just have no amiibo at all? If so, do you feel that way for every game that features amiibo?

Sorry I can't make more replies, i am getting ready for work right now. hopefully I will get time when I'm there so I can come back and play.

btw I noticed there are no posts from soundwave. He needs to come join the party

I think that Wolf Link amiibo looks awsome and it's utility is neat.

My only problem with it is that the trend that I'm fearing is coming. How about they give that cool usage to my old link amiibo that is collecting dust instead of selling me a new one? So many amiibos are virtualy useless outside of Smash. When am I going to use my LilMac? Hell, if Shulk never got any usage in Xenoblade Chronicles X, you bet aside from a collecter point of view, he will forever be useless.

I have a Link, Toon Link, Ganondorf, Zelda and Sheik amiibo. Why could'nt they make that feature for my Link amiibo? Would of made me feel smart for buying it back then...

I say trend because of a rumor of Nintendo going to make new a Arwing or Walker amiibo for Star Fox Zero... Because my Fox and Falco amiibo are soo overused, right? Why not give a fonction to these already purchased amiibo so they don't feel useless instead of giving us more new crap to collect to then never use again?

I know that is just a rumor, but that was what they basicaly did for TPHD, so I would'nt be surprised if that is true. Also would'nt be surprise if Zelda WiiU comes with yet a other amiibo. The old Smash ones will give you useless shits like arrows, the Wolf Link would be used to transfer over some save data from TP and the new ZeldaWiiU amiibo will be where the cool things are at.
