The problem with amiibo is that people does not seem to be smart enough to realize that the extremely lame content they unlock would have never existed on the first place if wasnt for amiibo.

In the case of Zelda TP, there's no way you can make that claim.
Chrono Trigger for DS: (Originally on SNES) - New end game dungeon, new final boss. Not DLC. Free of charge.
No More Heroes Paradise for PS3: (Originally on Wii) - New missions, modes, bosses, etc. Not DLC. Free of charge.
Tales of Graces F for PS3: (Originally on Wii) 10 hours of extra storyline that takes place after the main story ends. New dungeons, bosses, playable characters, battle mechanics, etc. Not DLC. Free of charge.
Some times developers add extra meaningful content to their ports, without charging extra or putting them behind a DLC paywall. It's there as an incentive for people who already played the game before. For some less meaningful things like Kirby hats and stuff, sure, that might very well not have existed without the Amiibo. But in the case of the new dungeon in the remastered version of Zelda TP, we will never know.

TPHD also has new stuff without amiibo. The new ghost lantern, the mirrored hero mode from the get-go, the gameplay improvements, the gamepad functionalities, the 50 new collectibles to find around Hyrule... That cave is not an extra dungeon or anything similar, is an empty room with lots of enemies, wow.
