Forums - Sony Discussion - The CONFUSING Combat List from Street Fighter 3D edition made me not want SFV.

Why do they have confusing symbols to represent the buttons??? Why cant you just have normal Y,X,B,A buttons instead of those symbols?? This pisses me off. I was so CLUELESS on how to play Street Fighter when I first got it. So I looked up the list of moves in the menu and saw this weird symbols and didnt know what they stood for! As a 3DS casual player I just used the touch screen moves because this stupid comppany couldn't tell me what buttons to press in the menu screen! I played Tekken and LOVED IT because I knew what buttons to press! In Tekken's menu they ACTUALLY SHOW THE CONTROLLER ICONS instead of stupid "attack button logo". Just because of this, Im not getting Street Fighter V. I ENJOYED learning combos from Tekken because I had a list of moves and they told me WHAT BUTTONS DO AND DIDNT USE STUPID ICONS TO REPRESENT BUTTONS ON THE CONTROLLER. I hope SFV flops.

I KINDA get the punchs and kicking logos but when it comes to that stupid red circle and arrows everything is BEYOND ROCKET SCIENCE! I also dont get that the blue rectangle is for either. I dont see any blue rectangle button on my 3ds!

HOW DO  YOU USE THESE?! I TRIED MOVING THE ANALOG STICK THE WAY ITS SHOWN BUT NOTHING WORKS. WHY CANT WE JUST HAVE NORMAL BUTTON AS ICONS?!

I don't think hoping a game flops is the right way to win sympathy

What strange symbols are you talking about?

I'm assuming high/medium/low punches and kicks instead of the actual button inputs to do said moves. It's one extra step that's apparently too hard for some people, I guess.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Oh, thanks.

I am fairly sure SFV has a tutorial story mode or something that might make it easier to learn if you ever change your mind. If you don't, however, at least you can find solace knowing that there are tons of people who are allegedly not supporting this game because of their moral standards of censorship or something of that vein...

Also 3DS isn't the best place to play fighting games

It's not that difficult, just look in the legend or look online to see what the symbols mean if you don't understand it. There's no need for all this anger when you can probably figure this out in a few minutes if you put the effort into it.

You've got the punches and three kicks.
Weak, a medium, and strong (or whatever you want to call them).
Some moves require you press all three.

The end.

The fist means "any punch" button, since theres like 3-4 buttons that all kick or punch.

Why do they do it like that? because of not just what I wrote above, but because useing differnt strong/medium/weak punch/kicks can alter the skills in terms like speed/damage, this way you get to pick how you want the skill to act when you perform it.
