Nintendo has spoken. There won't be petting of soldiers in the upcoming Fire Emblem Fates. Brace yourself, face rubber, Nintendo is coming to censorship your face.

That could be one of the few times when a censorship actually makes the game better.

As much as I hate censorship, I really don't mind this, just because of how stupid I always thought this feature was. Fire Emblem isn't meant to play like Nintendogs.

Why? Even the Nintendo rep said that the original japanese minigame was harmless.

This is dumb, really. It doesn't make the game better, it makes the game different, for better or worse. And I'm going to go with worse in this case.

Hmm, I have no idea how to feel about this, all I can really say is that I'm not surprised.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

At the rate they are going they are going to have to change the name of the game to Fire Emblem Fates-Ish

'cause, huh, that has nothing to do in a mainline Fire Emblem game. If it was in a spin-off (or in SMTxFE), I wouldn't care, but this weird mini-game is like a dirt in the perfect suit that represents Fire Emblem Fates.

Of course they do it, calm down nintendo you don't have to censor everything

Yeah, I won't be missing that. It was very weird and uncomfortable doing that in Project Diva F. So yeah... no complaints here.

There are bigger dirts that one could remove instead, like abusive DLC (which I don't know if Fates will feature, but I'll go with what Awakening got away with) or not splitting the games into two or three (and I don't care the reasoning, because Blazing Swords featured three campaigns and it didn't sell them separatedly). But no, let's go for the harmless minigame, because THAT's where the stain lies.

You're not forced to do the minigame, you know. But I could have had a laugh or two with it.

Yeah but DLC was never gonna be removed by Nintendo for obvious reasons. I know it's optionnal but I like this change, I was already scared on how to explain the purpose of this mini-game to my little brother when he'll play it.
