Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is Fifa 15 a good game?

Let me be clear. I used to play PES a lot during the PS2 era. Skipped football games entirely last gen. I am not a pro.

I bought FIFA 15 for the PS3 recently. Defending is really hard, switching players works OK but It doesn't help that everyone chooses RM and you can't waste a second switching players when Ronaldo has the ball. His outside of the box shots are insane too.

Long balls behind the defense line seems to be the easiet way to score if your players are fast.

I just think there is too much emphasis on players' stats. 99% of my online matches are against RM/Bayren M/Barca.

Again, not a pro. I'd like to hear your opinion on the game. What's the best football game to buy these days?

Worst Fifa ever for me.

Fifa 13 was the best last gen. 14 and 15 are just a step backwards

Balls played in behind the defence aren't really that effective anymore to be honest and I found defending to be easy when I played seasons.

I concede 0.61 goals per game in online seasons and have won division 1 with Juventus although I will admit I play with a front three of Dybala, Cuadrado and Pereyra who are all quite fast. I use them for their agility, dribbling and skills more so than their pace though.

several people mentioned that Fifa 15 is better then 16. as 16 is slower. For me, Fifa 14 is way better than 15 in terms of gameplay or maybe I have clocked more on 14 than 15.

Is that Fifa 15? Because I thought I've seen Cuadrado with Chelsea, not Juve, in one of the online matches.

Soz read that as fifa 16 for some reason.

Yeah pace in fifa 15 was super useful but the over the top through balls were balanced IMO. They are next to useless in fifa 16 while they were ridiculously overpowered in fifa 14. Defending was probably the hardest it has ever been in recent fifa games, I used to score a lot of goals from kick off just sprinting and dribbling at people and on top of that cutting in from the wings was really effective if you were good at dribbling.

It has its issues. Dribbling is totally overpowered and you can often just force your way through with a bit of luck and a player with reasonable dribbling/speed stats. Defending isn't too bad but can be made much harder than it needs to be when it doesn't switch to the right player. Also, ref decisions seem to be skewed into helping a losing team catch-up. That might just be my experience but it seems if a team is winning, the whistle blows for virtually any player contact.

As a football game it does the job, but it's nothing spectacular.

Ronaldo, Robben and Bale cause some serious trouble. It doesn't help that I play with A.S. Roma. A lot of the times I make a well timed tackle and I touch the ball but it still doesn't stop the attacker, only slows him a bit and he stills passes through me.  I am assuming there is a 80% chance that even if you tackle or correctly, the attacker will still pass the defender. And why does it take sooo long to get up after sliding? Not an issue for me because I don't like to slide at all.

Maybe I just need to get gud
