Forums - Gaming Discussion - Females in Gaming

I'd love to play a game where the main character is a female and plays the role of a good housewife. Does chores in the house. Such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, changing baby diapers, taking the kids to school, bringing her husband beer while he watch's TV like a lazy bum. While also managing mood swings during menstrual cycles. We can call the game "The Good Housewife"

As far as less female lead characters in games, fuck that!!! I always play female characters and prioritize the order that I play games with that into consideration. Uncharted is way down on my list. The female body is a work of art. Moar!!!

But who buys the condoms...?

I also completely agree with post about male leads becoming a bit bland and Very similar to each other. Female characters look better and very different from each other, they seem to offer more "character" so to say

Add me if you want but let me know youre from this website

Is it really that hard to relate to women characters???
Is it really harder to relate to them than to men???
Is a character's race as important as their sex/gender???
If Nathan Drake sported a kippah, would it be harder to relate to him???
What if Lara Croft had a bindi???
Would Mario be less of an iconic character if we found out his mother migrated to Italy from North Africa???
Would small changes like these really affect our ability to connect with the creations of our favorite developers???

Have a nice day...

Video game developers should be free to cater to feminist/PC ideals if they so choose. If their decision is well received, good for them. If they go too far and it backlashes, I hope they learn their lesson.

There really isn't much to discuss on this matter.

There's still The Order: 1886 then.

Yep, a game that was announced in 2013, and i am talking about a trend LATELY. Plus i listed a lot more new ips with female protagonists which were announced in 2015.

Scalebound is a new IP, and has a male lead character I think. And I don't really think it has much (if at anything) to do with "feminists" influencing devs, I think they make the games they want to. So what if we have a short period where coincidentally femally main chars are in the majority?

Developers make games to make money. They couldn't care less about feminism or being PC, as that doesn't translate to sales.

The ND developers even had to fight to put Ellie on the cover instead of (only) Joel. In other words, they knew that that would probably lead to fewer sales. You think companies would throw away money just for the feminists to like them? Give me a break.

This is by no means a trend. Just a person being uncomfortable playing as a female character (for whatever reasons).

Why is gender such a big deal? Perhaps it's just me but out of all the characteristics, attributes and actions of the video game characters I play as the gender is the least of my worries.

The question is, when i play a 3rd person game, do i want to stare at a male or female butt for hours and hours ?

I know my answer.

My question is, how are you able to play any game while staring at butts the whole time?

"No, no, I swear; I just like the way my foot tastes!"

Female sensible adults just don't play good characters. A typical male can be funny, aggresive scary tough etc. While a lot of those traits have to be very specific to get right on a female.

When you shove a kid in there, and you sell the kid as a manly female, like ellie and jodie, it generally fits the character.
Infact the worst part of beyond is the cringey moment when jodey is tryna be sexy...weirdly
