What I am getting at is some people are saying Halo 5 is a failure because it didn't hit 3 million on a single platform when even COD couldn't do it (going by retail).

I think you know that but I will try to make the things transparent again...

- It sold less than half of previous entries (not just Halo 3)
- It sold less than ODST Expansion
- It only moved 93k Xbone at release (way less than UC bundles for eg.)
- The more expensive limited edition ($249) have a price drop less than a month after release ($149)

Unlike previous Halos it didn't put US on fire.
I can be wrong but I don't know any others franchise that underperformanced this bad this generation.

Halo 5 made xbox one outsell the PS4 for november NPD despite the PS4 price cut for the month in just 4 days.

Also, we are not counting digital sales which could put it above half Halo 3. Halo 3 had the luxery of having no competition while Halo 5 has to go up against star wars and black ops this year. Really good numbers. Mario Kart 8 and GT6 did a lot worse if we compare to previous entries.
