Forums - Sony Discussion - The truth about PSX reactions: you are all spoiled and complain too much

No... it was an underwhelming line up.

We aren't spoiled, Sony just didn't have any major announcements.

As Shuhei Yoshida said, "this year has probably been the biggest year in terms of big announcements in his career". He also said that "Sony plans its shows and that E3 and Paris Games Week were planned for big-name announcements and that PlayStation Experience was always going to focus on the smaller games and indies". So indeed people's expectations were misplaced. But wearing that Crash t-shirt was still a dick move roflamo

I agree with ps3sales 100% and would like to echo what boutros has said.

Over all the year was exceptional for PlayStation announcements,  light years ahead of the competition.

Only thing I will say is the Crash t-shirt was a dick move unless they are going to announce it at one of the 4 events next year.

IF they are and it's FF7 type troll from them I think it's perfectly fine.

I'll give this thread a 3/10 just like the conference.

You tried.

Great arguement I think you just convinced me.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

Would people prefer one packed conference per year, or several not so packed?

From the looks of it, i guess it would be better for Sony doing the E3 and pack their bags for the next year.

The same question could be asked for the peopke that prefer an exclusive packed holiday instead of a progresive release through the year. Very similar way of thinking.

I think the MAIN gripe I had was the Backward compatibility fiasco. They dropped the fucking ball man. We were being teased like a month before the event, had an employee pull us around by a chain and leading us toward certain conclusions... and idk. It didn't go down how I liked it and that kind of ruined PSX going in.

On paper, you look at the whole thing abstractly and no, the conference wasn't bad - There were some nice new trailers of big games in there, Ni No Kuni 2 looks great and Paragon is definitely interesting. But to me, I'm still thinking about how much better it would've been if we had disc based PS2 emulation. That would have knocked things out of the park, the kind of announcement that really does deserve its own special podium in a major conference. So far Sony has been nearly flawless in their strategy for the 8th generation. They've basically played their competitors to great success. To see them stumble here, right now... I just had my expectations too high.

I wish people would quit complaining about that. IT IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN NOR SHOULD IT.

You have had over 10 years (outside of a few sports games) to play your PS2 discs. It is 2 gens old Sony's obligation to you is over for the discs. Buy the PS2 games off of the PSStore if you want to play them OR use a PS2 to play your discs.

I do tend to agree with some people that PS2 classics on PS3 should move ove though

You know what, I'm getting a little sick and tired of Sony fans suggesting people like me are 'spoiled' or, as the other thread said 'lacking wit.' I had moderate expectations going into the show and I've certainly got my wits about me. I gave it 6/10 for good reason and I'm not prepared to break it down in order to justify my score. If you truly think something is great you get attacked by XB1 fans and if you're honest about being disappointed you get attacked by Sony fans. I'm sick to the back teeth of this polarising mindset. I'm sure that those who actually went to the show feel more than happy with the two days but as a viewer of the ONE event, I just couldn't be as enthusiastic as I'm sure Sony expected me to be.

I don't think his OP has anything to do with you, but with people he actually described. You didn't give it a 2/10 or some other absurd score.

I gave him a comment to what people the op referred to most of this stuff is from neogaf but still some of these comments are also from vgchartz:

"SHIT" "WORST CONFERENCE EVER" "0/10" "LOL WHAT A TRASH SHOW LOL" "2/10" "PEOPLE PAID MONEY FOR THAT SHIT Lol" "INDIESTATION CONFIRMED" "SHITSTATION LOL" "1/10 Waste of my Life"

Isn't expecting big announcements from the 4th big conference this year being spoiled? I mean it's not like they teased anything big.
