Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nice to know : Ni-Oh, Yakuza 0, KoF XIV, Ni No Kuni 2 were all shown as "Console exclusive/debut on PS4"

Ninokuni 2, what adam boyes says is more important than a screen at the side of a video ( which could easily be an error since there has been so many console exclusives, while adam boyes saying " exclusive to PS4 " cant be an error, so it's most likely exclusive )

I agree, and Ni No Kuni isn't really the type of game to go on Xbox or PC.

It's probably an error.

Too but the last informations is almost the best in these situations. But I'll wait too for this one, although I would be surprised if it didn't come on PC, since SNK Playmore is now owned by a chinese company.

if KoF doesn't then they'll just be pissing all over the fans on the platform which isn't really a great way to show support to fans on another system.

I'll give them all my cash when they decide to, if not then I'll simply give my cash to those that care and those that don't simply won't get my support in the future.

Well I guess you will be giving your money to someone else because these games are exclusive to the PS4 with the exception of KOF most likely going to PC. None of these games will appear on Xbox and those who want these games will buy a PS4 as they should if they do not already own one. If you are interested in anyof these games then it is strange that you do not won a PS4, as PC and Xbox do not get these franchises ype of games often of ever. It's simple, you buy the console with the games you want to play and don't beg for games.

But why isn't it the type?, why deliberately not bring it to PC?.

Look at Level-5's list of games developed and scan the list for the number of PC and Xbox games they've made.

If you're too lazy, the answer is zero.

So they just don't make for other plats?, that I could understand but to say they can't fit on another platform seems to be stretching it. We could also use this same example with Firaxis.

If I were to give a wild reasoning for why Level-5 doesn't port games to PC, it might be this:

If you look at the trends of which Japanese games get ported to PC, you actually see a fairly interesting trend: the higher the perceived quality of the developer, the less likely that developer will port their games to PC. Atlus and Level-5 don't touch the platform; then Sega and Nippon Ichi are cautious but interested in PC; and then Compile Heart and Koei Tecmo port to PC constantly. Final Fantasy is the outlier, because that franchise sells millions even on platforms that aren't particularly conducive to JRPGs, like Xbox and PC.

My reasoning is this: the PC platform is only relevant to the west. Atlus and Level-5 are very ardent and passionate fanbases in the west, so they're just going to buy the game on whatever platform it comes out on. Other companies with weaker reputations have much more to gain from making their games appeal to a wider audience.

Seems somewhat odd to just ignore a platform for years and continue to do so because they don't want new money or fans, when other Jap devs do it they set an example that money can be made, praise can be given and quality is something that improves with time across all platforms. That said with time the longer they ignore and then become weaker, the les chances trhey have of making more money in the future, not everyone has an infinite level of patience though so there's that to consider.

Also are all VN's played only on consoles in the east?, if so Japan and China lied to me.
