Forums - PC Discussion - I want to build a expensive PC

I don't get you, guys, "you can build a good PC for 2000$", that doesn't answer his question.
Anyway, I would have spend on a SSD raid. A Hardware RAID PCIe with cache (Adaptec RAID 5805 700$), And a few SSD (1TB ssd, something like 4x50$), That's 2500$ for a extreme disk performance ! http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-6gb-raid,2388-5.html They achieve 3.4 GB/S with 116 disks. Because you don't want to wait to play 4K, right ? ;p

You might as well just blow your money on the alienware station Angry Joe has. If you want to waste that much.

No, buying alienware is a bloody waste of money. And building is way more fun.

the build comes out to 2600.

I hope you have about 1 Billion dollars, a mansion, have travelled the world (eveywhere), and generally don't have anything more useful to blow your money on that you haven't already done, because if not, that is one helluva waste of cash.

Enjoy.

Get 2 Titan Xs.
Intel's 1.3TB PCIe SSD
Watercool both graphics cards and the CPU.
Get a top of the line monitor (get once that is at least 120fps if you have a budget like this)

With that said, you should be good.

He doesn't really need to watercool the GPUs, so long as he's got a case with plenty of air flow (something that should be a top priority when building rigs of this nature). CPU watercooling is another matter and, overall, much easier to manage.

Perhaps he doesn't need to, but with a budget like his, why not?  He might as well squeeze some more overclocking performance out of them.

I have no idea why you guys spend so much to play video games in the FIRST place lol. I could buy a used car for that AND a PS4, with a boat load of games.

Well, as you can see from several responses to you, my machines are never "just for video games ". I do much more than that, hence my advice to him in the first sentence.

Besides, I already have a PS4, a used car, AND a boat load of games. ;)

Oh, yeah. I guess I just assumed it was for gaming only lol. I bet there's people out there that DO spend that much on just a gaming rig though.

don't build a PC now, the next gen of GPUs will see a significant step up due to HBM2 and 14/16nm process and will likely be available in about 6-9 month
