Alright people, I've been waiting an Animal Crossing game since New Leaf (the two spinoffs don't count) for a home console. Since it looks unlikely the Wii U will get one, I'm hoping it's an NX launch title. This thread isn't me discussing my ideas for the game (I have plenty of those!), but rather amiibo integration.

The game should be a full game (not mini) and have more features than ever, so it should be fully priced ($50-60), but should offer a new, amazing type of amiibo:

$50 customizable amiibo (or however much gives them the same profit based on costs of development).

You buy the game, and create your character design in game, then get the option to buy your amiibo in real life or not. You could literally have your specific amiibo that no one else in the world has (needs to have a lot of options) that you can carry with you to your friends house and automatically be able to play with your character like it's visiting another persons home (which also means I expect at least 2 player split screen for the next home console animal crossing).

Imagine how awesome it would be to have your own customized amiibo (both physically AND digitally) that has your character and his/her history (which means, if you one a bug contest in your town recently, then the characters your visiting in your friends town know about it, etc) that you can physically take with you that is unique.

I'd pay $50 for that amiibo. My goodness that would be amazing. What do you guys think?

*Obviously, if your not an animal crossing fan this will be dumb sounding. This thread is mostly geared towards AC fans.

Sounds interesting, but I don't see this being a feature if this is a launch title for the NX..

Charging $50 or so for 1 amiibo isn't that eye catching to most people, imo.

The Amiibo would also have to be able to store more data, because the current ones would be very limited.

There are hundreds of animal crossing characters, if they wanted to make a line of amiibos they would make millions maybe the ones from amiibo party are just the beginning.
I only have 3 amiibos, the green squid, olimar and the blue yoshi one.

Maybe I'm not a huge fan of amiibos but I don't think it would be easy to do that, I mean, imagine it sells like 150.000 units, all of them different, wouldn't it be too difficult to do? As far as I know they are hand made right?

It's not a bad idea after all, if they were able to do it, well, it's more money for them :)

Yeah, this idea does sounds quite nice, however, I don't see a worthwhile market of people wanting to spend that much for an amiibo that only allows you to let you play it round your friend's house. I think it would be better for Nintendo and the consumer to just use the current animal crossing amiibo and allow you to store your character in that, though, that would kind of defeat the purpose of having your unique amiibo :P

Noooooooooopeeeee. They are factory produced.

I don't get it... How are the customized and uniquely your own. Do you commission them to make your own custom amiibo..? I'm not really sure I follow how this is a good idea.

Though AC doesn't really matter to me anymore. I have had enough of the series.

I had a similar Idea once with the mii Amiibo but I couldn't quite make it work in my head.

The way it worked is that you got the Amiibo base and several lego-ish (Talking about the lego figurines, not the actual stones) pieces that would make up body and face of the fighter in a base pack.
I thought it could include sticker sheets with Mii facial features to customize look and expression of the Mii as easily as possible.
I also thought that they could have diffrent packs based on the colors of the Miis, but then I ran into the problem that each pack would have to include at least nine bodytypes, to offer sufficient variety, as well as a lot of hairstyles.
Also you would have a lot of leftover parts after building just one miifighter amiibo, wich would just go to waste. So I thought there could be little expansion packs and additional bases available. By that point it had pretty much tured into it's own toyline and I don't think it would be a very viable thing for Nintendo to do! XD

The way I understood your post thoughis not to offer the modular aaproach I was thinking of, but actual custom made Amiibo, wich I think is even less likely to happen, even though I like the idea.

I like it, I'm not that much of a fan of Animal Crossing but I know people who would definitely pay 50$ for their OWN Action Figure, especially in the AC style ! Plus we're talking about a game that would come out next year if it's a launch title or a few years later if it's development hasn't already started so that would make the production WAAAAAAAY easier considering the fact that we're in the middle of the 3D Printers boom. Another thing that makes me feel good about this is that the Amiibos beeing in the AC style would make them of pretty good quality instead of the one we currently get for Anime-like characters. I don't really get what the point would be in having the split screen in an AC game but who knows, I only know that I can dig this Idea and it's also feasible.

The only thing that concerns me about it is the possibility of Amiibos beeing defected or breaking while beeing shipped since it could get pretty expensive to make again a custom amiibo due to the first one having such problems...

Well, yeah! Of course, sorry! I meant they are hand-painted.

I'd imagine a similar concept back when amiibos were first announced with the Mii Fighters.

It'd be cool, but I doubt Nintendo would bother with something like that.
