Forums - Gaming - Thou shalt not use Phantasy Star Online 2 to build weapons of mass destruction...

Yep, SEGA fears you will use their game for mass murder

- someone found the following in the Japanese EULA for SEGA's MMORPG:

- translates to:

7. Prohibition of Misappropriation

The user agrees not to use this software for the purpose of development, manufacturing and use of weapons of mass destruction (including nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, biological weapons, and missiles). This item does not condone the previously stated activities outside of the boundaries agreed to in this end user license agreement.

So yeah, beware terrorists, you may get sued if you use this game... somehow... in your terrorist ventures.

Only time I remember something gaming being used for terrorism was those news about terrorists using PS2 for an attack which then turned out to be false.

I think the EULA of Java has a similar clause.

Tsk tsk, I'm sure that's possibly only because the EULA doesn't have a clause against it. If it had, such videos wouldn't have been made for sure.

Definitely, just because terrorists have complete disregard for human lives that doesn't mean they can't respect EULA agreements.

My thoughts exactly. Rockstar really need to improve their EULA writing.
