"Nintendo Cross" may make sense in Japan but that wouldn't translate worldwide, the name will feel unfinished. In the west cross is typically followed by an adversary or collaborator (Y cross N), otherwise you're left with "Cross" meaning annoyed/upset with someone "he was cross with her...". Beyond that it doesn't sound like a tech application or device.

Through the abbreviated NX, it can be interpretated in regions differently but the marketing can be universal.

X- Often associated with a hidden value, sectret or something "other" (secret sauce)
X- The duplication of a value (multiply or times)
X- 10 (roman numeral)
X- Collobration or bridge between 2 seperate entities. (cross)

I like this but I do wonder whether it'd be best saved for a system which arrives after Nintendo have already repaired their image.

In 2015 when people hear Nintendo I personally believe they think of a company that isn't relevant anymore and the "Wii" brand.

This!!!!!!!!!!

Failing that, something along the lines of 'Entertainment System 3' but that would be hard to do.

i think numbers are too late.

people be like were was nintendo 2 3 4???  hell some wont even remember the NES or SNES lol.

Why do consolemakers insist on stupid names anyway? Playstation never did an original game in it's entire excistence in the console world. And guess what it is perfectly fine for customers except for the Vita (handheld) which failed, which enhances the point. The only console with a different name that did do really well was the xbox 360. Nintendo should consider naming their consoles like Sony. No stupid innovative names just Nintendo entertainment system 7 which is a fine name in the first place.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
