No. Even if the third-parties hold their system up for them, it's better to spread the titles out in order to ensure maximum sales potential for each and every title.

Plus, well, do you really want to spend $300 on games in a single month?

Agree. One thing Sony could do about this, though, is delaying some of the titles originally planned to launch before that still have too many quality problems, to fix as many of them as possible, and use just these titles to pack the last months. But droughts must be avoided, gamers don't like them at all and they can cause immediate and longer term negative effects, so at most one big title and three or four lesser ones should be delayed, if necessary, and use resources freed in the short term to fix the other titles as quick as necessary to launch them in the originally planned date or at worst not many days after.
After all I really doubt their original high season schedule can have more than four holes to plug.

Nope

Here's what they should do

Cancel TLG and GR2, put half of Sony Japan's employees on PD and release a GT every year

Cancel Horizon, and make GG, GC and Insomniac take turns releasing Killzone and Resistance every year

LOL, sounds like a super original plan to me.

exactly.  Anyone who says it's hurting their sales having year round releases or says that PS4 has no games doesn't realize that the holiday period can have tons of exclusives.  They can have exclusives from earlier in the year on shelves around the holidays or in bundles.  They STILL have a sales impact whenever they're released that's why Sony dominates YEAR ROUND is because people always have something else to play.

I am Iron Man

They should save at least one big AAA game for the Holidays. Trollin' thread topic.  But it does not matter.  Sony could have increased the PS4 price and the thing would still sell wildy for unknown reasons.

Over 12 months. If they pack all those game in one lump, it makes it harder for consumers to financially take advantage of all those games, thus potentially making games lower on a buyer's priority list forgotten about. And it also helps 3rd parties maximize their sales if everyone isn't pushing all of their titles during the Christmas shopping season.

Wrong thread.

Actually there are plenty of well known reasons. No need to be so salty :)

We all know that Sony have a great 2016 lineup, but is perception more important than reality? Should Sony hold off launching a lot of their AAA titles to pack the last 4 months or should they do the same as this year and spread them out over 12 months?

Sony should delay uncharted or sf5 for the holidays because their other big AAA games like Horizon and TLG (might not be AAA since it is kind of niche) won't be released in 2016 more than likely.

Well, it's a well known fact that Sony has produced a better console than the competition. They got everything right. Even Microsoft acknowledges that.
