Forums - Nintendo Discussion - If Nintendo goes mobile next gen will you still follow them?

If they develop for Vita and PS4 in parallel it should be fine

I think if that happen , Nintendo will be the first one who revolutionize Mobile casual industry, so i always have hope for Nintendo. And when that times comes, i will necrobump every topic on Vgchartz who despise Nintendo going mobile. I will support Nintendo even if they are going to mobile.

If NX dissapoints, they'll probably just make games for PC/Playstation 5/XBox 2 and probably release a physical controller for popular smartphones/tablets for the iPhone/iPad/Galaxy devices.

I don't see why they would go mobile only though, a lot of their franchises wouldn't work, and why ignore PS5/XB2 out of spite. Several of their franchises could still make good money outside of just smart devices, even if the goal is to refocus as a broader family media brand (ala a mini-Disney), Disney, LEGO, etc. all have high visibility on the Playstation/XBox platforms so just ignoring them because they used to be competition would be silly in such a scenario.

I'm fine with it, tablet gaming is good. There are tons of great games on IOS.

If the NX's mobile side is a handheld/gaming phone then I am 100% on board. There is no room on the market for new homeheld consoles, the next portable device from Nintendo has to be a gaming phone. If Nintendo has any hopes of capturing market then they have to steal it from somewhere.

Handheld market and mobile markets do not overlap, are not the same, and there is absolutely no way in hell Nintendo's making a successful smart phone.

They are exactly the same market, and their are dozens of companies capable of making great smartphones and succeeding in the market. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft could all gain massive success in the battery powered, connected device segment if they ever leveraged their gaming divisions.

The 3DS/Vita/Nvidia Sheild form factor if done right, would be part of the same ecosystem as slab phones and tablets. If Nintendo is handling the NX devices properly, they will have on of the most flexible hardware ecosystems on the market, and they are great at developing apps that are outside of the gaming relm. Nintendo is more than capable of competing with Apple and Google with their own mobile OS and applications. The only herdle they would face is 3rd party support, but if the platform is done right, that will be fixed quickly.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Yes, but they need to improve in the library department. It's imperative that they need to choose better which games to do.

I don't understand the hostilities here. Nintendo have enough games that wouldn't lose its control when it is converted to mobile, and considering how they were making game since DS/Wii Era, I don't think they will just stick virtual direction pad and be done with it.

Do you expect Nintendo able to make games like Zelda for $5 on the app store. The problem is cost that people acept on those stores. If they can't sell $40-60 games in that place. All their stuff is reduced to what will sell. Which will make games crap. If Nintendo could make a new Pokemon $4.99, it be that on the 3DS now.

Always!

Switch!!!
