Launches aligned, I think the XBO is still ahead of the 360, mainly due to a better launch and the huge spike in sales due to the $349 price last holiday season.  But, considering they are doing much worse in EU and the ROW compared to the 360, it won't bee too much longer before the 360 overtakes it.  Which is why I'm not sure why they continue to say this, as it will end one day, and people will be able to use it against them.  I suppose they have to use something, though.

When the PS3 was struggling people always said the PS3 would be able to catch up. Why would that not be possible for the X1, simply because Europe is doing less good than last gen for xbox?

Because Playstation is a much bigger brand, the gap wasn't as big, and the PS3 wasn't losing in every single territory.

The XBO IS NOT selling 80M+.  That is a fact.  The US, with the PS4 even leading there, can not make up for the huge deficits not having decent sales in EU and ROW will bring.  Hell, it's even going to have to make up an extra 1.5M for the lack of interest in Japan compared to the 360.  The max the XBO is going to reach is 60M, IMO.  And that's being optimistic.

It's bigger yet last gen it come out tied at second with xbox.

Have you got two accounts with the same name? I'm answer this:

'When the PS3 was struggling people always said the PS3 would be able to catch up. Why would that not be possible for the X1, simply because Europe is doing less good than last gen for xbox?'

This member is clearly using the fact that the PS3 caught up with the 360 and so sees no reason why the XB1 couldn't do the same. This is who I've answered. You are clearly a different member because you are saying catching up wasn't of any significance.

We're not two different users, we're one and the same. You said the PS3 was the bigger brand, yet going by what? Figures.

So, if looking at figures from last gen, I would say that xbox was an equal brand to Playstation.

I'll post it again:

Because Playstation is a much bigger brand, the gap wasn't as big, and the PS3 wasn't losing in every single territory.

That's your interpretation of the numbers.

That's the answer to your question. You wanted to know why people think the XB1 cant' catch up like the PS3 did. There's your answer. Playstation is a much bigger brand.

It's not valid. You're basically saying that the PS3 caught up by brand power alone. What about the exclusives, what about the pricedrops, what about the remodels?

You were asking about the XB1 catching up. I'm telling you it won't catch up to the PS4 because Playstation is a much bigger brand. It's not only a valid argument but a 100% proven argument. It's not going to catch up. It will never catch up. It's cheaper but losing heavily. It's because the Playstation brand is bigger. I don't know how many ways I can say the obvious.

Xbox consoles haven't won any gen whatsoever. Playstation consoles typically win every console gen that it's in. I wonder what brand is bigger......

The interview looks a lot more commenting on improvement on what x1 is doing than comparison to sony. Useless clickbait.

Then in that case the exclusives the PS3 got did not change anything to its victory, the remodels either, nor did the price drops.

The PS3 won on brand alone.

Can you hold that point of view with a straight face?

On the internet, perhaps.

We'll leave it at that becaue you're moving goalposts all over the shop. You asked indirectly why the XB1 can't do the same as the PS3 and I gave you an answer. You're now changing it to a debate about the PS3.

The XB1 won't catch up to the PS4 because Playstation is a bigger brand. The reason the PS3 was able to catch the 360 is because it wasn't losing in every region, the gap wasn't as big and Playstation is a bigger brand.

Here's a question for you: Do you think the XB1 can catch the PS4 and if so, why or how?

Before the Phil hate train begins I wanna say that it sounds much more like he is saying 'we have more gamers playing games on our platform (than ever before)' and NOT 'we have more gamers playing games on our platform (than on other platforms)'.

That doesn't mean anything either way. Except if it's point is that people are letting their Xbone take dust, but I guess everyone knows that already.

But he does say they sell more XboxOne than 360. Isn't that weird or even straight wrong ?!

Soon he will change to selling more than x360 globally in usa and then drop it when no spin is possible
