It didn't, it enriched your post and gave a little more context. People often seem to think "bluray=sony" and how much of a big win it is when it comes to consoles while it's not. Sony doesn't own bluray and limiting the view of "ha, MS gives Sony money, haha!" and now it's the "counter attack" of MS is just insanely stupid. Both get money from the other company in many ways.

Since microsoft lost this generation of console war they need a so called small "Victory" through the back door. This news has also excited a lot of xbox fans because they have needed some good news for a while now and even though this news will change nothing, they will champion it like they won something. You just have to see serial stalkers such as Tim Dog and mooch (few on here) on twitter and you will get what I'm talking about.
