Reddit user dieklobrille compared the speed of the current Xbox One UI, with the upcoming ‘New Xbox One Experience’ update, and the results seem to be quite impressive. According to dieklobrillethe tests were performed while in the main menu of FIFA 16, after a cold boot of the console.

A graph has been uploaded to IMGUR to show the results of the comparisons. If the comparisons are to be believed, the new Xbox One UI outperforms the UI of the PS4 on all actions.  The speed increase between the old and new Xbox UI varies for each action tested.

The PS4 UI is plenty fast. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

There are plenty of other features. Some matter more than others to certain people. Getting a movie to play on Netflix, checking Achievements or Trophies, reading an activity feed, etc.

Xbox One was slower in some areas and faster in others. Good to see it has gotten an improvement across the board, though.

Honestly, its more that the PS4 is just really good at getting the basics right.

I knew this was going to happen after I saw the video. Phil has transformed the Xbox One into a hard core console that works well with a controller. It's pretty amazing really because the the Don Mattrick Xbox One was a TV/Kinect based nightmare. For Phil to put together a team of people talented enough to fix that cluster fuck... hats off.

It's fast for me

It's not that bad, it is slower than the PS4 but both are "decent". just looks like they are making it a crapton faster if the tests are accurate.

Wow that comment thread with that article. Why the heck from the main menu of Fifa 16, weirdly specific test.

 I imagine the test is about how fast you can switch out of a game to access those specific tasks. the menu of a game is a good consistent place to run such tests from.
